First outing with the Forza
« on: April 10, 2015, 06:20:09 AM »
Got a chance to try out my Motiv Forza in league yesterday for the first time and I have to say I was quite impressed. Got it drilled with with a stacked layout similar to my 505T and Mean Machine as a benchmark ball. Ball is pretty smooth as advertised but the way that it hits the pocket is just amazing. Played 12 board to 8-7 at the breakpoint and didn't have any trouble getting the ball down the lanes. For the most part it's very controllable and once it reached the pocket it literally drove through it rather that deflecting. Only trouble I came across with it was in the 3rd game when I encountered carrydown rather than the lanes drying up from transition. The Forza had a hard time reaching a solid hit at the pocket and I had to move right a few boards to play a much straighter line.

This is the first time that I've had a Motiv ball since the Tribal (which I was disappointed with) and can see very good things in the future with this ball. Will post a full review in two week once I get more games with it. Hope to see another great ball in that line from Motiv in the very near future.

Good ball, normally not enough oil in my house, so my Sigma Sting is mine for THS. Looking forward to your full review.

A bowler that on the pair of lanes next to me was throwing the Tag that night. He was bowling pretty good with it but started encountering the same carrydown issue that I was by the end of the 2nd game. Seen him getting alot of splits and shots coming up short of the pocket in the last game. But from what I've seen, it looks to be a pretty strong ball once it gets halfway down the lane.

I bowled another series with the Forza last night and this time I was able to use it all three games. Very similar reaction as before, very smooth and controllable and played 12 to 7 at the breakpoint. My biggest surprised last night was that when I missed right a few time, the room for error was just amazing. There were times when I got the ball out to the 5 board and it still came back and drove through the pocket. Last game, still bowled good with it but the 10 pin was being stubborn, similar to the other night. Had to pick up my ball speed slightly higher but ended up with a 696 series.

At first, I thought the ball would be too smooth for me at OOB finish but so far I'm extremely impressed with the Forza. After I do my last night of league on Thursday I'll have my full review posted (first review I've done in years).
