Title: Motiv Hydra
Post by: Rapidfire on June 16, 2018, 05:33:34 PM
The new Motiv Hydra is one of the most versatile balls yet, i have thrown mines and house shots as well as sports shots and have yet to not like my look. On medium oil shoots the hydra is clean down lane and with a good smooth arch to the pocket keeping the pins low and increasing carry. now on light oiled lanes i was able to move in deep and not lose my carry with for me is a bonus..... for me i give the Hydra 10 thumbs up

Oh Look, another positive review from a staffer. Another "most versatile ball yet"  and "clean down lane" comment. All that was missing was a "great continuation through the pins" comment.

I might have to get this one since it "keeps the pins low"  must be some new technology

Instead of a two handed bowler this guy must be one of the new all thumbs bowlers!

HYDRA
Being a huge fan of the Tag series I was understandably excited about the upcoming release of the Motiv Hydra. PBA Cheeta and patterns on old wood lanes have always been a challenge for me due to ball speed. Fortunately, my ball tilt allows me to project the ball down the lane allowing for me to remain competitive independent of the challenges I faced. The Hydra – helped to change all that by providing the length and recovery I need on both these types of patterns and surfaces. Initially I tested a pin up version which provided exceptional length while still reacting angularly of the end of the pattern. The ability for the hydra to react down lane is a true game changer for this level product. The balls halogen core coupled with the new Hexion cover provide the perfect mix for higher friction surfaces. When compared to my OG tag I saw added length with a stronger more angular backend reaction. As compared to the Tag Cannon – again it was longer with similar angular motion overall. If your rev dominant or speed challenged and are looking for a ball to get down the lane but still provide a strong angular motion then the Hydra is the ball for you!!!

I have been informed a new one should be coming around August. Rouge Blade, Hexion SE cover at 4k, Sigma core.

If I had to guess, this will replace the Chronic on the chart.

The Motiv Rogue Blade will be the most versatile ball yet and will be clean down lane. I had one drilled 6x6x6 and the angular motion to the pocket was amazing. The great continuation through the pins will make this a must have ball in your bag.

Even a non-staffer can write up a cliche filled Motiv ball review.

You could turn a Motiv staffer ball review into the drinking game. Every time you read one of their "to numerous to mention cliche's", you have to down a shot of tequila.

Each and every bowler needs a ball that's   `Clean downlane',  and  a ball that ` Keeps the pins low '. All are bowling needs are met.  How about that tequila shot now?   ::)
