MORE ANGULAR - TRIBAL VS OCTANE
« on: October 06, 2014, 04:55:28 PM »
Which of these balls would be more angular, more continuous, and more backend ? Medium to medium dry condition, a bit of out of bounds and sketchy right of 8 board. Breakpoint around 10. Need to get inside around 25 at the arrows out to 10 board and get the ball to turn enough and continue enough to get out the corners.

Tribal or Octane. Or is there another Motiv ball that you think is more angular than these?

How different are the Primal Rage and the Tribal?

The Primal Rage was suggested to me but I don't know if that ball would be too early.  The tribal has the same cover with a less dynamic core.

It's a mixture.  The Octane is more angular and has more backend, but the Tribal is more continuous.  The Octane, due to how sharp it is on the back, CAN stand up on you at times if it hits dry too fast or too early.  The Tribal blends the transition out better, while still giving you a strong, continuous move.  The Rage is a super hard arc, and the Tribal reacts similar just with more length.  My Tribal is the ball that always works when nothing else will, in addition to being the first ball out of the bag more often than not.  I use it specifically when I have to get in deep and pitch it right and get it to be continuous when everything else is burning too much on the turn and hitting flat.  Only thing is that I have to have a bit of track burn in the middle or it can go a little long at those angles.
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

Excellent post Gizmo, I was trying the think of how I wanted to describe it, but you nailed it exactly.

I love the Tribal, it's not the first ball out of my bag, but it will get use during the night when I need to move inside.

Thank you very much for the info.  After reading the reviews I was almost set on the Octane.  With your information, I'm not so sure now.
