Just wanted to know what ball this would be comparable to ? ( i.e what storm, hammer ball)
-
That's a difficult question to answer. The SX1 is a low absorption shell and it is polished. Because of that, you really need to know what you are doing with layouts. The shell does not power the early Motiv balls nearly as much as the core.
That said, with a weak layout and the shell polished the SX1 will be the weakest resin in your bag. This isn't a bad thing at all, though. It still hits great. I have one drilled 80 x 6 1/4 x 60 and polished. That ball is weaker than my Razyr was, but it still hits like a performance ball.
Drilled moderately the SX1 compares well to the Avalanche solid in my opinion. This is with pins between about 4 and 5 1/2 inches.
I have not attempted a strong layout with an SX1. My assumption is that with a strong layout it would be easily compared to something like a polished solid raw hammer.

Congratulations!!
I like my SX-1 too, but it took me 3 drillings to find the right match-up for the surface I needed. It revs up like nobody's business. Closest rev-up ability I saw was the old Danger ZOne.
Surface prep can make it usable on anything from Medium-light to medium-heavy. Others have seen milder reaction, not sure how their SX-1 might differe from yours andmine.

Congratulations on your 300 game. Which ball was it with?

it was with the MOTIV SX1

Ok, wasn't sure from your earlier post if you had the time or means to put the thumb slug back in or if you had stuck with the Razyr.

Its hard to comparable...
I play the SX1 with a RICO and it is one of my alltime favorite Balls. very predictable motion and lot of hitting power. I also had a Hammer Vibe blue with a 4-3/4 Layout CG stacked.
So compared to each other I would say the the vibe is longer and harder on backend and SX1 is earlier and more predictable.
It reminds me on Brunswick Sideways...
