It's not ridiculous if you see PBA or Kegel Challenge pattern volume. I've been bowling a lot on these type of patterns the past 3 years and you literally need as big of a cover and engine as possible on the fresh on some of these patterns. Even in late game blocks you can still use the high end equipment because the volume up front is 1.5-3x more than a THS. Even if it's a 39ft pattern for instance. at a 26ml load, you'll need something with bite or else you'll find yourself confused wondering how your ball can still go straight with 20+ feet of backend.

So in other words they got it wrong the first two times.  That’s the only way to look at it when they keep putting another assym solid out to the left and moving the others right. I like motiv a lot and it’s all my son throws. But some of their stuff over the last year or so really has me scratching my head. Especially when there are obvious holes that they create nd then take an extended period of time to fill them.  If a person can’t handle what you describe above with the rising, then their problem probably goes deeper than the ball they’re throwing.
Current bag:
DV8 Turmoil 2 Pearl
Radical Squatch hybrid
Motiv Forza GT
Hammer Black Widow Gold
DV8 Vandal

I would say if you need the “holes” to be filled you also need help

Maybe you don't need it filled, but you know that if that spot is filled, it would help your game. If Motiv doesn't see a need to fill a particular spot on the ball chart, put a big X in that spot so we know. Replacing existing balls that are liked while leaving open spots unfilled has me scratching my head.
Balls: Motiv Trident Abyss, Motiv Golden Jackal, Motiv Hydra and Motiv Hyper Sniper. All made in the USA.

Motiv could help by knowing what a ball actually does when they create their advertising collateral. It seems that every ball they sell is listed incorrectly on their ball chart. They then "correct" it with the next release by moving balls around their chart to make room for the newest release.

Whoever tests balls for Motiv and assigns the condition it should be listed for has their head in their ass.

People want new stuff not old. Last year's oiler probably is still a monster, but say you have $300 to blow on your new high performance ball this season... You going to pick the new $249 ball, or the old $249 ball?

Scenario #2, you have $25k cash to spend on a new F-150. Are you picking the 2018 with zero miles, or the 2017 with zero miles? We have to stop acting like the rules of business don't apply to the bowling industry. When something gets long in the tooth/stale, you have to freshen things up. You can't rest on your laurels because "That's still in production and it hooks plenty".

Motiv did the best job of turning itself from a niche company to a "big brand" better than any other brand in the industry since Storm. If you don't like it, don't buy it. They'll listen to no-sales and adjust the business model accordingly, but about 60-75,000 league bowlers are about to buy new equipment nationwide for the fall season.

Let them.

You can cover ANY house shot with a Trident and Shock. If you are bowling sport shots you can definitely get away with any perceived gaps in their chart with surface changes and being versatile. As mentioned earlier the market is driven by strong balls, if the Abyss is what it is said to be most would be ok with a strong asymmetrical you can get left with and maintain carry.  The ball chart can be a useful tool but to think most of the holes aren’t overlapped by something already in the line is nonsense.

IF you have enough ball speed. But on drier conditions, most bowlers will be screwed with just those two balls.

I wish Motiv would release a lower end solid that was about an arrow weaker than the Shock. Something along the lines of a solid Hydra would be nice.

You're not the first I've heard this statement from. I don't throw Motiv, but I know folks that do/did and got tired of it not being what it was advertised as.

This is along the lines of what I was hoping for to pair with my Tag Cannon. I don't think it'd be an arrow weaker than the Shock though.

They used to have one. The Ascent Solid which I used one quite a bit and loved it. It finally split, but it went down the lanes a bunch of times.

I think I still have a NIB one actually.
