A small review of GT1 and TX1
« on: September 23, 2009, 01:02:33 AM »
Well, so far I''m impressed with the hitting power and ball motion''s I have been getting with the GT1 and TX1 that I have drilled.  My coworker drilled the other 2.

I drilled my GT1 with a 5 inch pin to pap (pin up)with the mass kicked out.  Hole on my axis.  The ball is clean through the fronts and makes a strong arcing reaction in the back end.  On house patterns I have used it on, its a reaction that I can use because the ball, for me, doesn''t over react off the dry which some pearl balls do.

The TX1 I drilled with a stronger pin to pap placement because the GT1 flares 2-3 inches for me.  I went with a 4 pin to pap stacked with a hole on my axis.  The TX1 for me is a monster.  I used on fresh house patterns and burnt house patterns and it still gets down the lane and picks up the roll. Once again drilled for strong arc, and thats what I got with the 4+ inches of flare.

I should be able to use both of these 2 balls in tandem with each other starting with the TX1 and going to GT1 for the burn.  I will be practicing on some PBA patterns the rest of the week and tourney Sunday.  I will update my review, possibly a video.  Thanks to JustinWi for a little incite and background on motiv gear. Any questions feel free to ask I''ll do my best to answer.

Rob

Before this gets out of control, It's not like The pro shop I work at has not received bowling balls from all companies to try out.  I have received Brunswick, Storm and Roto personally.  My other coworkers at the 3 other shops have received ebonite, columbia, and hammer.  I am giving a honest non biased review, I'm basically saying thank you and giving a general post.

Rob,

Would you agree that free does not have a stigma?

I really feels it's more if your on staff if it's biased or not.

Unfortunately we never get to meet who post on this site so you don't know who to trust or believe either.  I have tried in my post to give a general statement on what I have seen so far.

I'd agree Rob.  Many on here that have been on BR for years know staffers like riggs, Steve Richter, RSalas, etc.  I normally see opinions based on strengths and weaknesses of said balls.  I believe we should look at both not just the up side so to speak.

The guys you talked about are exceptional players though, I have met Riggs and Richter.  I feel they give better reviews then others on this site.  I don't know Rsalas but only on this website but he has helped me with questions I have had.

Well when I get a few more games on these balls I will post my honest opinion good or bad.  I'm not trying to sell anything ....yet.

Glad they are rolling good for you, sorry I didn't have much to help you with on the TX1.  I did drill my second one yesterday, the pics will be posted later tonight.  The GT1 and SX1 I instantly got along with, the TX1 and TR2 are giving me a little agita... with my hand I don't see enough oil for the TR2 very often.  The thrust block is strong, I have to use weaker layouts as to not burn the ball to bits by 40 feet.
