Current rumor indicates the next Motiv release will be a new MCP ball. Anyone heard anything more yet?

Update - PBA listed on the individual tourney pages the 2024 List of Acceptable Urethane and Urethane like equipment.

The Motiv Tank Rampage Pearl is listed. Dont know if its MCP or urethane but its got to be the new Tank coming later this month.

I really doubt you're going to see another actual urethane ball again.

Not a big fan of MCP balls

Actually - 2 new balls on the way

Tank Rampage Pearl is MCP Frixion 6 Pearl. Literature says intended use is dry lanes without significant surface changes. Same core as the original Tank Rampage (Gear V2).

Evoke - new asym core with a super strong cover. Sort of looks like an Easter Egg from the first shots I have seen from afar.

Motiv sure has a knack for making some ugly bowling balls.

The Evoke needs a seizure warning label when watching it roll down the lane. It will not be in my bag.

It's no worse than the Roto Grip Gem, which is also hideous.

Well now that Motiv has officially posted on these I can participate in here.

The New Tank Rampage Pearl is going to be the closest MCP to urethane, by oil absorption rules it classifies as urethane, and it's hard for the PBA rules. Pro's used it a ton this past week at the Players, ton of surface, but it being weaker than the Yellowjacket allowed them to play straighter, longer as the players of the other ball companies are finding with their 78D balls.

The Evoke is going to be interesting, haven't drilled mine yet, but the core shape is going to really show differences in layouts. It's always been the case that some cores get affected by drillings more/less than others, this Evoke was designed to have a core that will really cut the diff down if you go with a low pin layout, and if you go high pin, the post drilling diff is going to be quite high. I will be drilling two of these right off the jump just to see for myself, but i'm intrigued.

US Open coming up, so both balls will be popping up quite a bit soon for the touring guys and us staff guys, and the release date is February 14th.

If at the same surface, how would the Tank Rampage Pearl compare to the Dessert Tank?
Current Equipment
Alpha Jackal
Jackal Flash
Primal Shock
Rogue Assassin
Revolt Havoc
Revolt Vengeance
Venom Shock
Blue Coral Venom
Fatal Venom
Dessert Tank

Hard for me to say, I don’t have a Desert Tank around to directly compare, but from what I’ve heard the TRP is going to be earlier, and more urethane like in shape than the Desert was.
