How different are the Ascent apex, Ascent pearl, Recon RX1 orange, and Recon RX1 silver from each other?

In order of strength from strongest to weakest:
1.  Ascent Apex
2.  Ascent Pearl
3.  Recon Silver
4.  Recon Orange

In order of earliest roll to late roll:
1.  Recon Orange
2.  Recon Silver
3.  Ascent Pearl
4.  Ascent Apex

The Recon Orange is the one of the most urethane like reactives I have seen.  The Recon Silver is a slightly stronger version of it and depending on prep can provide decent length.  These "entry" level balls were probably the weakest on the market when they were released.

The Ascent line provided ball shapes that were more in line with what other manufacturers were providing.  The Ascent Pearl provided a little more natural length and a stronger move off the spot than the Recon Silver.  Now they have the Ascent Apex which is more of a ball up from the Ascent Pearl than another ball in the Ascent line.  The difference is almost enough to give it a different name than "Ascent", but because of the identical Recon core, the name was kept.
