New Motiv High End Asymmetrical! Coming in August.
« on: June 17, 2016, 06:16:12 PM »
Was just snooping around bowler x.com I noticed they had the motiv trident listed on there. It will be the new replacement for the jackals, their high-end asymmetrical release. It shows release date of August, the ball looks to be black with light blue no marks.

So this is more along the lines of a successor to the original Jackal. Makes sense though. If the LE replacement is a snow tire then they wouldn't overlap as much.

I hope that the LE replacement will have a interesting color mixture for the cover.

I hope it's not an "interesting" color mix like the Primal Impulse had...

I would love it if it was "interesting" like the Primal Impulse.  And I love the ORG Forza's colors and I really love the roll of the ball.  I think that I am in the minority thou.

The original Forza is fine. The Primal Impulse, like the Forza Redline didn't sell as well as it should have due to the colors in my opinion. Both roll well, but the color choices didn't have broad appeal.

Looks like the Trident is the replacement I want for my Jackel Carnage. RG is higher which I like. I didn't want some universal replacement ball that's more like the original Jackal.

And the Power Gel Gloss is cool. I use power gel  but on my Cobra, I want to clean and polish at the same time.

Judging by the description of the Trident in a couple of the posts above I would say it's probably closer to the original Jackal than the Jackal Carnage. Especially with it being a hybrid coverstock. I know that doesn't mean much by itself but companies usually make their balls fit in with what people expect from a particular type of coverstock.

More of what everyone loved about the Jackal. Close to Jackal shape, outhooks both Jackal and Carnage.

If it outhooks the Jackal's, then Motiv should gives us them as replacements.

The Carnage had a 58 rating and even that was stronger than a Track Paradox or Storm Lock (57 rating).  The Trident being at 59 basically makes it and the No Rules as the strongest balls that will be hitting the market.

The LE ball is waiting for the USBC's final decision about reinstatement. The Trident is the new catalog asymmetrical ball going forward. Once we know the results of the USBC appeal, the balance of the exchange program will be sorted.

Trust me, we want this resolved just as badly as you do.

Whose ratings are those: BJI, BTM or other? (thanks)
