New Motiv High End Asymmetrical! Coming in August.
« on: June 17, 2016, 06:16:12 PM »
Was just snooping around bowler x.com I noticed they had the motiv trident listed on there. It will be the new replacement for the jackals, their high-end asymmetrical release. It shows release date of August, the ball looks to be black with light blue no marks.

The Trident does fill that gap. It is important to get word out before the season starts that it is there.

Speaking of filling gaps, do you have any information about what the possible LE ball could be like? I'm not really concerned about when it's coming out (if it does) but where it fits in my bag. I'm toying with the idea of buying a whole new arsenal before the season starts. It would really suck to buy something and then get the LE ball and have it duplicate one of my other new pieces.

If I exclusively used Motiv I wouldn't worry about it too much. It probably wouldn't fill the same role as something in their current lineup, but I throw stuff made by all of the companies. Any information along those lines would be much appreciated.

The only people that know about the Trident are HARD CORE Motiv bowlers. Like those of us that participate on the forums here. I would say that is only about 1% of Motiv bowlers. The rest of them, the 99%, since the Trident is not even a part of the Motiv website, don't know anything about the forthcoming bowling ball.

Motiv should have gone full out with information as soon as it decided to release the Trident. Instead, we are about 6 weeks away from league season and the Trident is still locked in a hidden box, if you will. Not a very smart marketing plan.
Balls: Motiv Forza GT, Motiv Primal Rage Remix, Motiv Ascent Pearl and Motiv (On The Ball) spare ball.. All made in the USA.

I'm not a "HARD CORE" Motiv bowler, hell you're not either since your name is still AMF300Bowler lol. The Trident has been on the website so I know all of the info that has been given by Motiv. There is no other info to know until we start seeing people throw it

Would the bowlers complaining about the ball not being on the website be as upset if they didn't know the ball existed?  Motiv has consistently released information on their next release well in advance of it officially appearing on the website.  Just because we know about the ball doesn't mean it needs to be on the website officially.

Next thing you know bowlers will expect balls to be on the website the minute they are on the approved list.

Why not? It's approved and you know you are going to release it. Why not get the hype machine started? You can never promote a bowling ball too much considering it is a very intense market with new balls coming out by competitors almost every week.

As for those of you saying the Trident IS on the Motiv website, unless you know the exact URL to enter, you can not find the ball. There are no active links to get you to the ball information.

Because it would hurt sales of the ball that was just released. Us bowlers have a serious attention deficiency when it comes to the latest shiny new toy, and the ball companies know it.

This.

Motiv is different in they release a new ball every 45 days or so instead of multiple releases a couple times a year like other manufacturers.  Many hear of the upcoming release before the previous one is actually on the market.  This means talk is about what is to come out instead of what just came out.  I would rather the leaks be closer to the release date.  Hype is good, but waiting 2+ months for the hype to be realized is too much for most people.  Eventually they grow weary.

The only way that would be true is if Motiv released two balls, one after another, for the exact same lane condition. The Trident and GT are for very different lane conditions. Posting both at the same time would not hurt the sales of either.

What will hurt the sales of the Trident is the wait for the announcement of the LE ball. Those of us waiting for details of the LE, but like the Trident, will just sit back and wait. If we knew the LE wasn't what we want or we feel the Trident would be better, we would go ahead and buy a Trident. I know I would.

We will just have to agree to disagree on this one.  ;D

But, I agree on this and think Motiv should give us an option of the Trident instead of waiting for the LE. Afterall, we lost a heavy oil ball, so give us the current heavy oil ball.

Motiv is pretty good about not overlapping reactions, so why would you not want the LE (if you're getting one) and the Trident if you like the motion?

AMF300bowler should go into the bowling marketing industry.  He'll please everyone every time!

I would agree Motiv is pretty good about that. The Trident has my interest for an oil ball when it comes time to buy one.

And he really should
