Damn... I think I'll be waiting for this one instead of buying a ball right now
-
Where did you find this?
-
So...Raptor core, with a pearl version of the Revolt cover...count me in.
-
More than likely it was from an offer that was given to PBA members. I could be wrong though. I would say I'm at least 51% confident. PBA members sometimes get offers on equipment before any company decides to advertise of a new ball coming out.
-
Actually it wAs from a email I get from my distributer on all new releases
-
Motiv "kinda" has it up on their site

Ball looks sweet! I wonder what the numbers are for 14#

I wish I had a need for a high end pearl in my bag...

Core and cover prep are the same as the Raptor Talon. Difference being the use of Turmoil HFP Reactive.
Based on how Motiv is describing the ball, it may be a fit between the Raptor Talon and the Cruel Intent. I personally don't have a need for either ball or the Jackal.
I am curious about this release. How many people need an exact fit between the Talon and the Cruel Intent? The Cruel Intent is listed as "late hook" but it isn't skid flip. The Jackal is listed as "delayed hook", so to me, it might be a bit stronger than the Cruel Intent (based on cover strength) but I wonder how much overlap there will be.

I was hoping more for the Vanquish core with a pearl cover, but I dont think I'll be able to pass this one up

I don't think this is out of the question for a future release though, do you?
-
I don't. but I can't wait to see some video of the Jackal. So many good choices right now it's hard to decide on just 1. #CollegeStudentChoices

Nice ball. I've had my heart set on the Raptor Talon for awhile but last season I had the Raptor and was partially pleased with it. Didn't feel confident to pull the trigger and get the Talon. Will have to see the videos of this ball since I bowl better with Motiv's pearl and hybrid balls better than the solid ones.
-
Man, I'm going to have to get a bigger bag. ;D
Anyone have a gently used forklift for sale? :o

Looks like we may have a really nice piece to fit between the Cruel Intent and the Talon. Also looks like a good combo with the strong cover/low RG core.
-
I noticed that the ball only comes in 3 weights and not avilable to people like myself that are forced to throw balls lighter than 14#.

How long is Motiv going to make us wait for a pearl Revolt? I match up so well to the Revolt. I know this is just conjecture because not many have thrown it yet but the pro shop I go to has a Jackal in stock. I'm wondering what 4000 abralon and some polish would do to tame this ball down and have it fit under Revolt? Core is probably too strong compared to the Vanquish?
-
So I am guessing you like the Revolt but want something with more length and more response down lane?
With what is currently available my suggestion is another revolt with a bigger drilling angle and smaller VAL angle (Not sure what your current one is though) and polish it! It's currently my favorite piece. The Jackal is 4-5 more boards in overall hook potential.

14#, 2.48, .060 pearl?!!!
Oh my... I'm going to try Motiv again...

That is funny! ;D

I would second this . . the Revolt is unbelievably versatile.

I have to say that the ball that made me really look at Motiv was the Revolt. I know the Rage was THE ball, but the Revolt really turned my head.

I think you're right in saying that the Rage is THE ball...but I think of it a little differently. I assume you mean it's like the Motiv ball to own, the ball that everyone can throw.
I think of it a bit differently. I think it's THE ball that changed people's outlook of Motiv. It really made a lot of people start taking them more seriously. It is a great ball, but in my opinion, not their best. For me the Venom Shock, Revolt, and Tribal Fire are better. I know i might catch a lot of grief for that opinion, but like I said, it's nothing against the Rage.
Not to hijack this post, of course. The Jackal, as strong as it should be, might not see the most use for me, but I can't wait to throw it. I never matched up well to the talon, because of the strength of the core and cover. I never ran into enough oil to throw it on. Putting the pearl cover on that core is brilliant. It'll get down the lane just a bit better, and hopefully be a much better fit for me. Looks like another winner from an awesome company.
Just another ball that will get noticed more...thanks, in part, to the Rage.
