Jackal Carnage - Motiv's new high end asymmetrical
« on: January 20, 2016, 03:26:38 PM »
The Jackal Carnage provides a powerful motion with unparalleled control and continuation.  It is an easy choice for bowlers that have high ball speed or low revs.  Looking at Motiv’s ball chart, the Carnage sits on the heavy oily, smooth side as a high end asymmetrical.  What I like about the ball however is its versatility because of the smooth motion.  It really will fill a lot of places in your arsenal since this ball can be used on all kinds of lane patterns.  Depending on your layout and surface prep, this ball will work on both long and shorter patterns with plenty of hitting power.  This is a must for all tournament bowlers!

My thoughts on the carnage. I haven't had much success with a asymmetrical ball but boy the carnage is the real deal. ( out of box Finnish) I practiced with it on a left over ths it was very clean through the heads and didn't over read the mid lane . The carnage still had enough control and continuation to carry playing deep . I then used it on a mhs . I strugle playing downs the boards I am more comfortable in deep .'That being said with the carnage I was able to play down the boards with a lot of confidence. The jackal carnage's versatility and control will make this ball a must have . And like all the other Motiv balls the continuation is like no other ball .I used the 4 1/2 inch from pap . Pin above ring finger . I will be getting another one and use a 3 3/8 layout to open up the lane even more .

Been wanting to say something like this for a long time. So many of the reviews here are done by reps. The first part of their review always sounds like the manufacturers description. When was the last time one of these guys said something negative or even neutral about one of their products. Think reviews should only be done by non staffers. Or maybe a separate review area or large disclaimers for staffers.

You (we) are not going to get any negative info until after the ball is NOT the "NEWEST and GREATEST" meaning not until there has been another ball release. I was on staff with 3 separate companies on the Amateur level and although I was never specifically told to I could not provide bad reviews, it was understood that you do not say anything negative. Then, later on after another ball is released, I could then say, New Ball X fits great on heavier oiled lanes whereas previous release Y struggled, because that highlights the new ball and what the new ball can do.

Funny thing is... I bought this ball on Friday, my first Motiv, and Steve is spot on. Very versatile ball that doesn't over over read or make a hard left turn off the dry that will work on variety of lane conditions. Had a lot of fun throwing this ball and moving around seeing what it can do. Great job, Steve and Motiv!

freak...I am thinking about getting one as well. I think where some folks get upset is he or she sees a similar review from many (not all) of the staffers from many companies. I think most want to see some more technical aspects, where the ball worked good, where it struggled.

On the other hand, some bowlers (both really good and some that are not so good) do not understand the technical part of drilling, nor do they have to. So for some, they just go to the shop, ask for a ball and trust the operator to hit the span and get a reaction out of the ball. So, in that case, the reviewer may not have the knowledge to pass on the technical side of the drilling.

Coach, nobody said you were. The person before you was commenting on the post before his. I was agreeing with him that so many of the reviews are posted by either product reps or advisory members. Went back and checked on 2 balls I have. The DV8 Thug Unruly had 27 reviews, 20 of which were DV8 or Brunswick people. Of the 6 Radical Guru Supreme reviews, 4 were by affiliated people. Actually value reviews like yours because you don't have a special interest.
