If your not a staffer, the best thing to is try out all the different companies. Actually just picked up the Redline last week for $94 at bowlerdeals.com. Glad I did, ball looks awesome especially next to my green Pathogen and is a very strong and controlled hook for a pearl. I'm really enjoying it. Just not sure where this paranoia will fit in when there is already the Rage, Redline, Octane Burn and Venom Panic.

Paranoia is selling at bowlingball.com for $153.95!

It's almost as expensive as Jackal Carnage... WOW!

I believe the Octane came out at 146.99. I'm not a fan of the price being that high for that type of ball when the competition is 110-130. Yes I know it may only be a $20-30 difference but bowlers see the price difference

I agree, that's a little pricey for a middle of the road ball. That as much as most other manufacturers high end releases.

The price isn't all that surprising considering the ball is new core and cover tech from Motiv and slots just under the Primal Rage which sells for $159.  A price of $110-$130 would put it in the same category as the Tag and Venoms, but I think the Paranoia is intended to be a higher performing piece than those.

I'm just curious.. typically, what makes it high performance ball?

If I may borrow the definition from bowlingball.com,
( 8 )  High Performance: This category will provide you with a wider variety of ball reactions for use on more challenging lane conditions.
(10) Pro Performance:Designed for very advanced bowlers. These balls are the newest in bowling technology.

Paranoia is high performance ball ( 8 ) according to bowlingball.com

Paranoia (#15) RG: 2.53 DIFF: .047 Flare: M-H
Octane   (#15) RG: 2.55 DIFF: .043 Flare: M

Not too much difference there...

Paranoia's breakpoint shape to be "Controlled Angularity"
I guess this is new technology, right?

In my opinion, it is marketing.

Though I am okay with "new" technology being considered high performance regardless of the amount of hook or backend it has.

Re-issued old technology maybe not so much.

Not to pick nits but, the primal rage was 147 before the release of the remix.  Since remix was priced at 159, then suddenly and magically, the red primal was suddenly a $159 ball.  The paranoia occupies the same performance level as the Forzas which are both 125. As a reminder, the original Forza was a "new core and cover tech from Motiv" which slotted under the primal rage on the performance chart (albeit different shape).

So yes, the price is surprising. If it replaced the primal Rage, it wouldn't be surprising.
Current bag:
DV8 Turmoil 2 Pearl
Radical Squatch hybrid
Motiv Forza GT
Hammer Black Widow Gold
DV8 Vandal
DV8 Creed Rebellion

Idk but motiv does a great job, I'd support em, they're doing their best to stay in the USA, sign touring pros, giving young talent a shot.  They signed a lot of local guy's around here,

Charge what u wanna charge, motiv, just make sure you're pumping out the good stuff!

Like I said storm better have a home run in a box with the phaze for me, or else I'm joining the AMF dude and going to motiv haha

If no one buys them, then they will change their pricing philosophy.  But if they are popular, then they are priced correctly.
