Kevin's PARANOIA Review and Ball Reaction Video
« on: February 29, 2016, 11:31:43 AM »
MOTIV has been on the cutting edge of technology for the past few years, and the new cover and core featured in the Paranoia is evidence of just that. The Paranoia is an angular pearl ball that’s easy to control. The secret, (as it seems to me – I’m not a scientist  8) ) is the revolutionary dual density core. The Paranoia really features a unique shape that I don’t think I’ve seen before. When the Paranoia sees friction downlane it makes an assertive move towards the pocket… but unlike most balls designed for skid flip performance, this ball seems to take a more diagonal path through the pins. I feel like I leave fewer 4 / 9 pin combinations because of it. (I’m right handed).

In my ball reaction video below I compare the Paranoia to MOTIV’s Jackal Carnage, Revolt Havoc, Octane Burn, Graffiti Tag & Ascent on Kegel’s Bourbon Street pattern.

I really believe that the Paranoia is the type of ball that can give me a distinct advantage over my opponents when a “clean through the front, aggressive on the back end” kinda look is needed. This is due to the Paranoia’s knack for blending out the wet/dry back ends just enough to give me more miss room, along with widening the effective pocket due to it’s strong continuation.  I don’t think the Paranoia will be my “secret weapon” for very long.
