Pride Empire Review
« on: July 08, 2022, 02:48:23 PM »
I received my Pride Empire this week and had a chance to throw it on THS and PBA Dragon.

Ball is drilled pin in ring finger with MB inch to the right of the thumb hole cut. My PAP is 5 over +/- zero. If you want angles, do the math yourself.

The surface is the box finish, which Motiv claims is 5000 LSP, but mine looks more like 4000 sanded.

On a THS the Empire goes long and has a nice smooth move to the pocket. It's easy to get down lane with control in the box finish. Compared to the original Pride, it's about 3-4 feet longer to get into a roll.

On PBA Dragon, nice length and a snappy back end, but the ball wasn't designed for this volume and was hard to keep the pocket without leaving a lot of ringing tens.

I will be getting a second one of these and change the surface.

Hey Milo, not sure if you saw the updates but the boxes show the actual surface finish on the Empire's, the website and early marketing data had it wrong, they actually did a 4500LSS finish on them.

I just went through a fit change and haven't quite had the time to finish up my own video review, but will be filming tomorrow to hopefully piece that together. I've been pretty impressed with how much rollier this one is than the Mythic Jackal, and yet lets me move in and still get it to shape. I don't want to sound like overhyping staff guy, but since most of the polished balls Motiv has been putting out have been more and more angular, it's a little refreshing to have a little more round shape in a clean ball.

Hey Guys,
How is the Iron Forge compared to the Pride Empire?

I'm needing a fairly strong pearl to go under my Trident Horizon and my Pride.

It seems that both are pretty good balls to chose from =) but when I am about to call my PSO and tell him what I chose I then think I should go to the other one. Ever been there :)

Oh! and btw, Motive balls are getting kinda expensive for this old guy, well, that and gas...
Now throwing pretty much all flavors...
