Title: Primal Rage drill layout?
Post by: Ragnar on January 24, 2015, 01:31:38 PM
I posted this in the Drilling forum, but will put it here also.
I'm replacing a Track 508A drilled pin over middle finger, MB about 2 inches right of thumb, CG roughly on a line between the two.  I want maximum length with sharpest back end.  Any thoughts?

Here you go Scotts33
typical house shot, I prefer playing along the edge of the oil (around 6 board) but can move in.
Speed = 17-18 mph
track about 2-3 inches from thumb, 3-4 inches from fingers
High tile, low rotation
350--375 rpm

Scotts, it's almost a spinner.  I've forgotten my PAP, but it's a very low track with a lot of tilt.  On an old silver buzzsaw with a wt. hole on the PAP (I'm guessing the PAP is aroung 4 1/2 inches.  I could tell you my old PAP before I changed my release, but that would be of no use) the hole is almost at the direct top of the ball thru the midlane.  With this much tilt I'm not sure that the notion of axis rotation has any meaning.

i might be wrong on this since i don't see a lot of "spinners" but wouldnt a pin down layout be a better idea for the rage?

Joker, when I say like a spinner I mean it has a very low track.  As I understand it a spinner will have the holes at or near the top of the ball.  Not mine, just low track.  I've developed what I think is a sort of unique release (thumb at 3 fingers at 9, not turning my wrist just coming off the back of the ball sideways) that gives me this track.

High tilt bowlers need strong pin to pap and higher val angles....

I understand, I'm not sure what to call them besides low track so i put it as "spinners"
