Motiv's newest release the RipCord brings back one of my favorite cores, the Oblivion from the popular Paranoia line.  This time the core is wrapped around a new Infuse Reactive Coverstock that really allows this ball to be clean through the front part of the lane.  Where you will see the difference is in the response to friction.  The RipCord is absolutely faster off the spot than the Paranoia line was.  I have mine drilled 55-4.75-30.  On my heavier volume house shot that I bowl on I am able to play around the track and push it out to the dry and watch it bounce off the friction.  It really is a fun piece to throw.

The MOTIV Ripcord was created to produce angularity and continuation through the pins. Ever notice when the heads dry up and you need to move in to open up your angles? I really like this cover/ore combo because I can move in and do just that. The Ripcord is clean through the front part of the lane and rips off the friction on the back part of the lane. I struggle sometimes because my ball speed blows the ball past the break point and this core was created to create the down lane motion I need to help me overcome this struggle. Moving in and allowing the ball to see the front part of the lane and respond to friction gives me a shape I haven't seen before.

I highly recommend!!

I am looking too add a few more pieces to my arsenal.  I am getting ready to purchase the Primal Rage Le but was wondering how this Ripcord stakes up to the t10 which is what I have now for a medium oil ball?

I know they are going to be releasing the MOTIV Rogue Assassin come September I believe so might just wait for that instead of the ripcord.


Current Arsenal: Trident Abyss, Villain, soon to also have Primal Rage Le, t10, Venom Shock, Tag Cannon, Hyper Sniper.   Any recommendations on what to add is welcome.

I would buy a Ripcord instead of a Rage LE... Cleaner and more angular, definitely something you don't have in your arsenal right now.

Ripcord video here. I want to point out that it was very difficult to get lined up with the Golden Jackal and Forge on Taj Mahal, not a ton of volume or length, both balls wanted to check early and just didn't match up well. The Ripcord got down the lane substantially easier as it should and provided very good shape.


On two different house patterns i've tossed the Ripcord on it did okay on the fresh, but got substantially better as the patterns broke down and opened up. For average joe rev rate, the ball needs some friction to get moving at box finish, I'll likely be knocking the shine off with a 3000 pad in the near future.
