What do you guys think of the Forza?
« on: January 02, 2015, 02:37:02 PM »
I saw a friend throw his for the first time. The ball is early and even and great on the fresh but when there starts to be carry down, it starts to struggle. What are your thoughts and experiences so far?

I've thrown mine one set so far and loved it. The league is a second shift scratch league that follows a very low skill league that uses a lot of house balls and other plastic.

The Forza had no issues with carry down that I could see.

Its pretty clean for a solid, which allows you to chase oil in and not really give up the pocket.

Unless you are on a league throwing a bunch of plastic you probably aren't  seeing carry down. The ball is probably starting to burn up....

Being just an average league bowler I have loved my Forza. I have only put three sets in with it but have been happy all the way. I have had great success staying in the pocket with the Forza. The weird thing I have had is the first 5 or so frames I have had high amount of corner pins but once I make my slight adjustments It carries a lot better. I was able to shoot a 279 game last week with it. Had a wobbly 6 pin in the fourth frame.  This has quickly became my benchmark ball and is always the first out of the bag.

Based on the intended shot shape and oil recommendation, we should see a little overlap between the Forza and Shock.  What is the biggest difference that people WHO OWN BOTH or HAVE THROWN BOTH are seeing?

I drilled up my Forza and went with a simple label leverage type layout. I put the Pin 3-1/2 from PAP. On a fresh main street pattern, this ball had a strong midlane and a continuous arching backend. This ball gives you the look and shape kind of like an Ebonite GameBreaker. There's nothing fancy about the Forza but i know it will definitely be great for all the Sport and PBA type patterns. Compared to the Venom Shock the Forza is way earlier and smoother.

I have both and they are drilled completely different, so a much larger gap between the two. I have a rico layout on my Forza and a motion hole layout on the Shock. The Forza is really smooth and controlled unless I get it to the dry too soon. Then it really takes off. The Shock is still earlier than other balls that I have, but it gets more length than intended with great recovery down lane. It reacts more like the Octane than the Forza. The Forza definitely handles the oil better.

Drilling them the same, I would expect that the Forza is still a little earlier and smoother. Maybe not enough difference on a house shot. How mine are drilled, they are definitely different.
