Step down from Alpha recommendation

Just dropped to 14#'s and went with the Alpha Jackal as the house I'm bowling at this year has much more volume.  This ball is definitely strong and I love it so far.  I was planning on getting the Forge Fire until this came out so I am still considering that or the Rogue Assassin (I have the Blade in 15#'s and liked it at previous house).  Which would you guys recommend as a step down from the Alpha?

I would go Forge Fire > Trident Nemesis(pending) > Rogue Assassin. Stepping down depending on what shape works better for you coming off that strong Alpha.

Assassin, 100%. Since it's a higher volume, the Assassin cover will help with the puddle, but not overjump off the friction. Forge Fire is a bit more forward imo and of course the Nemesis is supposed to be a banger off the dry. When I did my limited testing, I really liked both the Assassin and Fire, but if I had to choose as a ball down from the Alpha, I'd go Assassin.

FWIW I find my Forge Fire a little more dynamic than my Rogue Assassin downlane. I think the Rogue just digs a little earlier and is a touch more round because of it. The Fire tends to float a pinch more and come off the spot more, they are laid out the same for me and box surfaces.

See, this is what I found wonderful about this brand. I liked the Assassin more because I'm more around the ball, and where *I* find the Assassin the ball down, someone else that can get the ball to read a little sooner can say Fire. For me I'd have to change the oob to get that.

And I certainly can back your assessment as i'm not a high axis rotation guy (though my tilt is a little on the higher side), but I do tend to get balls rolling early.

Exactly!  Storm and Roto Grip get most of the accolades because they have signed the majority of the top players.  Point is if Jason, Troup, Simonson, Prather, etc.  or any Storm/Roto National players switched to Motiv they would be just as successful on tour.  Example, Sean Rash switched from Brunswick coming off a super solid year throwing Brunswick equipment.  Now he throws 900 Global and viola he made the stepladder final for the Shawnee Open.
There is very little difference between equipment across the entire ball offering from any of the major manufactures.
It gets down to the skills of the players, who can make anybody's equipment work and look good.
My opinion, but you may see things differently. That's ok, because if we all thought the same, think how boring life would be.

I think this is the way I would go if I was going to buy something now.  I had tried the 14# stuff a while back and have the Revolt Havoc and Vengeance that I had the thumbs re-done to match my current pitches.  Always wished I had those in 15#'s as I really liked both of them.  I'm going to give those 3 a try for a while and make sure I'm going to stick with the 14's this time.
