I just saw this on facebook. Looks intriguing, to say the least.

This is something I posted on the Motiv site when the RX! and RX!s were out. Both of those balls were a tad strong for me and I do not have a ton of hand
-
Urethane... in other words, just a little weaker than their original coverstocks.
-
If I hadn't just got a great deal on a Columbia 300 U-2 Classic,I would probably be buying one of these. The Tank is definitely a cool looking ball!

Even though my wife is on Motiv's staff, I still chuckled at this.
The tank does look like a good ball for those Motiv fans looking for urethane. But as we have seen with other companies, the urethane coverstocks of today are not necessarily the same as those of the past. I have a couple of older urethanes from my earlier bowling days (Slate U-Dot and Wine U-Dot) and I also have a Brunswick Avalanche Urethane. The newer Brunswick is a lot stronger than either U-Dot and it isn't all core.
We will have to wait till the ball comes out to see if it is more like old urethane or new urethane since Motiv doesn't have previous experience with urethane. Either way, Motiv is listening to its bowling fans when it comes to new releases.
Motiv fans were clamoring for a plastic ball..... Sniper.
Motiv fans were hoping and requesting urethane..... Tank.

Is Justin around? Will he be doing a video on this piece in the near future?

One thing I like about the smaller manufacturers is they seem to be a little more responsive to their customer base than the big companies are.

justin just posted a teaser vid on fb. ball looks to revs up sooner and give a heavy roll.

The colors are horrible, drab and ugly.
Who would it appeal to, besides ex-Army snipers?
-
Motiv at one time was rumored to be going with a military type theme with some of their balls. You have the sniper, tank, and to a lesser extent the raptor.
Olive drab isn't the number one color people would pick for a bowling ball. However, if you were going with the military theme and had a ball named "Tank", what other color/color combination would you choose? The design on this is reminiscent of WWII imagery, thus making it a win in many peoples books.
Besides, I willing to bet those buying the ball are getting it because it is a Motiv urethane more so than a military themed ball.

Man, If you've ever been south of the Mason-Dixon, camo is everywhere! This will sell like crazy to the rednecks down here. All the pro shops have to do is put one in the window and they'll sell TONS.

Charlest,I get the feeling you aren't exactly excited about this release.

Well, you could go with the colors from the original urethane Tank, which was manufactured by EUI in the 1980s. RaiderH20Boy has a NIB one in his shop.

Now that's old school urethane!

1 standard issue military urethane piece! :P
I wonder what a ball would look like with a camo pattern with matte black and pearl black.....any of you all with some pull hearing this? Lolz

Super low RG + rough surface + solid urethane + ugly color = virtually useless for me personally.
If you have firmer ball speed and a good amount of tilt or higher rotation, it could be useful for you.

You are right dougb! The original "Tank" right between a NIB Roto clear Grenade and a AZO Fat Man!!! ;D ;D Thats the mentality you get when you are RA Airbourne ALL THE WAY!!
Was Airborne, 101st, Served a year on the DMZ.
Enough for me.
Was Airborne, Not now, never again!

No,I won't be purchasing a Tank.I just like the look of the ball.I just got a great deal on a Classic U-2.I don't see myself needing another urethane piece.Besides,I think I need to re-evaluate my arsenal, and eliminate the overlap, and dead weight.

After reading a few of the previous posts....
Motiv isnt really nationwide...yet. and if the south will freak out over camo, this will be motiv's ticket to get some exposure...I think its a good move on their part.
They do have some of the best looking equipment out their too!

Hello Group,
I have a question about "The Tank".
I currently am using the "Grenade' from Roto Grip (another urethane ball) which I absolutely love so my question is, is this urethane ball stronger than the "Grenade" from Roto Grip ?
I am looking for another urethane ball that is stronger than my "Grenade" but if its not I dont want to buy a ball that might be basically the same as my "Grenade".
But from what I can tell the "The Tank" seems like it just might be what I am looking for!
Thanks, Jake

BUMP,...
OK, is the Tank the strongest urethane out now??
-
It's a strong urethane piece. If you can find a Seismic Desperado, buy it. Those are very strong.
