Motiv vs Brunswick
« on: February 07, 2014, 07:32:26 PM »
Hey Guys,

I want to try a new manufacture out. I'm stuck between Motiv and Brunswick. I seen some great releases by both Brunswick and Motiv. i need a ball that carries phenomenally and that is very consistent. What are the differences between Brunswick and Motiv.

Thanks

motiv is a decent company. it all depends on your style/speed/rev rate in the end. and what you want the ball to do

I've owned quite a few Motiv balls so far:
Cruel c51 - Liked it, then lost it's reaction.
Recon Silver - Great ball that get's down the lane and hits hard, great ball for broken down patterns.
Venom Toxin - Needs head oil for me, a lot more than a Light-Med. oil.
Primal Instinct - Didn't like it at all.
Primal Rage - Like so far.
TZ3 - One of the BEST balls I've owned, too bad it was an international release, but I have a NIB for when this one wears out.

I've only tried a DV8 Misfit Pearl, nice ball, but can't find a place to use it right now.

I've owned balls from both companies and have had great success with both. I threw Brunswick for  2 recent years with great success and then switched to Motiv late last year when forced to drop to 12# balls because of back problems and Dr's orders. Reason for the switch to Motiv is because Brunswick uses the same generic core in all of their light weight balls whereas Motiv uses the same core (but less dense to reduce ball weight) as their heavier balls. I currently have the Primal Scream (now discontinued) and the Thrash Frenzy. The Thrash Frenzy is the first ball out of my bag and appears it may become my all time favorite ball out of all of the bowling balls I have ever owned. It is one of the cleanest balls thru the heads and one of the strongest balls on the back end that I have ever had.
