The coming of the Blue Tank
« on: March 03, 2022, 02:32:46 PM »
Have been waiting patiently for the NEW Blue Tank to take it's place among the new ball released status. Plenty of articles on the Purple Tank, but not so much for the Blue. Any idea on expected release date and difference from the Purple Tank? Thanks!

Looks like Double A (Andrew Anderson) used the Blue Tank today to make the stepladder finals tonight for Cheetah.

After the Blue Tank in May there is supposed to be solid Top Thrill and a new Pride in the pipeline.

Distributor posted the Blue Tank today. May 18 release date. Also confirmed this will be a MCP cover, not traditional urethane.

Is the Blue Tank a remake of the Desert Tank?

Numbers posted look identical.

Why did Motiv discontinue the Tank Blitz????????????

Why don't they bring that back?

No. I don’t have the numbers but I’ve been told it’s a modified Halogen core.

Cover is a new version of Microcell Polymer Pearl, and the core is the one from the Top Thrill so it has more differential than the Desert Tank had. I can tell you from throwing the Blue it is a noticeable amount stronger than the Desert Tank, both in starting earlier and hooking more downlane. This is much closer in strength to Tank Blitz than the Desert. More to come as I get time to use mine and get video with it.

He confirmed it will be MCP?  I posted a picture of the actual box, which clearly states MCP, weeks ago.  Can you get him to confirm tonight's lottery numbers tomorrow?

In fact, Motiv has the Blue Tank in the same ball guide position as the Tank Blitz.

The Blue Tank is 2.59/.023 while the Desert Tank was 2.57/.015 so definitely stronger in the way that the Top Thrill is stronger than the original Thrill.

MJS - word had it there were actually 2 Blue Tanks at one point and there was a release delay from the initial introduction months ago. Blue Tank was supposed to be the April release and the Coral the may release, but they were switched. Why were they switched? Did a change occur? Don't know so I wanted to hear the final info from the company or in a release of information from the company.

If I still had them, I could show you a picture of a few test balls over the years I had that the cover on the test ball was not the cover on the officially released ball, so until I get confirmation from the company or actual distributed information, I don't pass anything along to my customers. As far as I know, the pic you or anyone else got was from a test ball and not the ball that will be released.

Don - I don't know where you are looking, but I know Bowlersmart.com has the WRONG core pic and the WRONG core specs. Bowlersmart.com has the Desert Tank core and core specs for the Blue Tank, not the Halogen V2 core and core specs. That may be where your confusion is coming from....

There have never been two Blue Tanks.  The reason for the delay is that Brett had not been happy with the color and sheen of the Blue Tank and there have been at least three color changes since the balls were first given to the pros (which may be what you're referring to). They are trying to match the appearance and sheen of the Purple Hammer.

The info on Bowlersmart has been up since Wesley Low used the ball on TV and it was purely speculative.  Their info is based on the Purple Tank and their picture of the Blue Tank is a color-Photoshopped Purple Tank.

Gotcha. Someone said (obviously wrong) that there was a MCP Blue Tank (the one we are getting) and a true urethane pearl Blue Tank (obviously never was).

I had heard about the surface causing the delay....and wanting it to get more like the Purple Hammer appearance.

I ordered the 2 ball intro pack and am drilling one for myself so we shall see. Hope they arrive soon.

Don't know when they will arrive. I received the Coral Venom 2 ball pack on Friday April 1 (they are shipped direct from Motiv) when the Coral was to be released on Wednesday April 13. So about 2 weeks prior to the release date.

I have already sold the other "intro" pack ball and have an additional 9 on order from my distributor from pre-orders already. My customers that love Motiv loved the MCP balls so once I knew this was MCP, I knew I would sell a ton.
