For anyone who has this ball how well does it work on THS compared to the harder tournament conditions? Was thinking this might be a good ball to put under my NVD at 2000 grit for a ball that can go abit longer but with a strong finish on the backend. Was going to replace my Power Swing with the Ebonite Evolve or 900 Global Break Point but wanted to check this one out first.

JMO....Lord knows I've tried, but OOB this ball is WAY too much ball for a THS.
Have not tried it at any grit other than OOB or on anything but a THS.

Need oil up front, weak surface, or less surface/polish..

I agree with the previous posters.
You might want to switch from the idea of the TR-2 to the possibility of a GT-1, if the THS Is on the oily side.
FYI I think the Breakpoint is a notch or more stronger than the Power Swing. I have the BP and my friend had the PS with a stronger drilling than I have on the BP. Even at P4000 grit, the BP needs a bunch of oil or high ball speed. I can use on medium house oil, if I play fairly deep. Even then I get a really even roll, a smooth arcing breakpoint, as if it's burning up in the midlane.

I was thinking about that last week and went to a pro shop in another town that had knowledge of the Motiv balls. And I was also told that the GT-1 would be a better choice (which I wanted that ball a month or so ago anyway). So I'm going to most likely order the GT-1 this month but he also said the new SR-2 that's going to be release would definitely be a step down from the TR-2. I bowl in 2 houses but one is more oily than the other.

I had recieved this ball from Scott at MOTIV as a seed ball. This ball was laid out with a 5 1/2" x 5" - pin down layout for me, stats in profile. This ball in box was WAAAYYYY to strong for the THS, I bowl in 3 different houses - none which could handle it. Took it down to 500 then went 1000, 2000, 4000 Smoothed it out overall, but still pretty strong. Usually goes in the bag for the 3rd game. Have had some really good sets with it since the surface change, 772, 749, 761. But again this is on THS. Probably for me, I will take it back down to 2000 and leave it for tournaments with longer, higher volume patterns....IMHO

This ball is by far the strongest release from Motiv. If you are wanting somthing for a house shot, unless you have little hand and want to polish this beast, go with the Gt1 or Sx1. I've got video posted of all 4 Motiv balls if that will help your decision.
