Octane Burn Surface?
« on: March 22, 2016, 12:06:15 PM »
Anyone try putting 2000-4000 surface on their Burn and how did it work? Any good for lighter volume or shorter sport shots and what kind of layout?

Mine works perfectly without the shine and 2000, blends the wet dry pretty good, in my signature you can see my layout on it, puts the pin over my fingers in line with the bridge and cg kicked to the left at

How does it compare to your Shock and Paranoia?

What are everyone's thoughts as for those who might not want a replacement ball, but would rather have either a full or partial refund of the purchase price?  Is there any word from Motiv regarding this?

How does it compare to your Shock and Paranoia?
Sorry for the late reply.

Ill start with the paranoia, pretty similar motion, starts a hair earlier but less pop on the back end while covering more boards, maybe 3-4 more?
The burn es cleaner and more angular, the paranoia is more of a controlled pearl motion

Burn vs shock
Shock starts way earlier and for me is stronger plus it responss better to surface changes, shock is more of an arc shape instead of the hockey stick the burn is

Buttom line i would go like this

Fresh shock or pranoia, whatever looks better on the lanes and thru the pins. Burn so you can play the track area without any problem or just ball down

Thank you for the info. I'm thinking I might go with the Shock. It's a shape I don't have currently.

Good call, versatile ball, the burn would be a nice 1-2

drilled mine 4-4-2 which gives a strong motion for heavier volumes
