Title: Villain Scorn - Pearl asymmetric!
Post by: MotivSteve300 on November 15, 2018, 01:26:10 PM
Motiv’s newest release is here and the Villain Scorn will certainly impress as the pearl asymmetric ball you have been looking for!  The Sinister core provides you with a higher RG helping the angular Hexion SE coverstock get down the lane to really turn the corner towards the pins.  The Villain Scorn is engineered for medium-heavy oil and fits the big over/under house shots or when the fronts start to dry out but you still need power and a fast response on the back of the lanes.  This is just one of those instant favorite in my bag, you will want to pick one of these up at your local Pro Shop today!

I have one and I am less than impressed. I still have to play with the surface some, but so far, I find the original Villain to be a much better ball.

What have you seen with yours so far Milo? It's one of the balls on my list to fill a heavier side of medium spot

In box finish, it seemed to labor getting down lane to the point of hitting flat.

First game(Saturday at Double Decker lanes, Rohnert Park CA, I shot 189, then changed to my Venom Cobra with a 1500 grit finish and went 246, 300 in the same set.

I polished it then tried it again Tuesday night(E.A. Dublin Bowl, Dublin CA) in the Black Oak Scratch Trios league. This is a second shift league and it was either hook left Clyde or squirty to the point of washouts in shadow and into the first game for a 191. Changed to the Venom Cobra(1500 grit) and went 269, 217 to finish the night.

To be fair, I didn't do a complete resurface before Tuesday night, I just polished over the box finish. I'm going to do a full resurface and try it at 4K, which I think will probably be the sweet spot from my experience with it.

Something tells me it won't be replacing the Cobra though.

When it pry's it out of my cold dead hands...   ;D

Those Venom balls are hard to beat, at least for me.
