I have a Hyper Cell, a Jackal, a badass, and a Apex..I like my HyperCell and my Jackal, but, im not at all impressed with the Hammer, its my first Hammer product and I really wanted to like this ball. I wanted a Legend to begin with, but, pso talked me into the Badass.. I want to replace it with a Motiv ball, for a medium condition. I like the motion of the Jackal. Any suggestions?

I don't know too much about the Bad Ass, but if I remember correctly, it is a more even rolling ball than what a lot of people expected. If this is true, the Covert Revolt or the Forza could be similar ball motions.
But I wonder if maybe the ball motion just doesn't suit your style, and getting a ball from a different manufacturer with the same characteristics may not work as intended. If the Bad Ass isn't working for you, you first need to figure out why. Does it burn up too early? Does it not get into a good roll? Answering these questions would be the first thing.

Probably the octane imo....
-
My BA is pin down and extremely angular. At box finish, it is too much downlane on fresh. I'm sure it would even out if I hit it with a pad though. My guess would be Octane as well.

I have my Badass at 2000 abralon, tried it at oob, ball has very little motion, a lazy arc that hits like a wet turd. 14 mph with 275 revs. Drilled pin up, pin to pap is 3.5. My Jackal has pin to pap of 5 and light coat of polish, would love to have this reaction on medium conditions. I also had a Storm Optimus with the same drilling (and this ball has the exact same specs as Badass) and it was lazy as well..

Strong pin, strong ball and slow speed = lazy on the back. Why not redrill with a longer pin to pap?
-
I would think Vengeance would be closest but slightly more on the back, The Octane will be much cleaner through the front than the Badass....Actually the Sigma Sting if you can still find one would probably be closest in motion but neither are solids....

Motiv has nothing close enough to the Bad Ass to even offer a comparison. The Bad Ass is a really smooth ball that finishes somewhat cleanly, if not very continuous. The Revolt is similar until you get to the backend transition and then it's really different, the Forza is similar but the backend is much cleaner and stronger, and the Vengeance rolls much heavier. The Venom Shock is longer and sharper . . I just don't see anything that's similar at all. Not saying that's a bad thing though.

thanks so much for your reply, If Motiv had a ball that has motion like the Jackal, on medium/light conditions..that would be nice. Im really liking the Motiv balls.

If you trust Motiv's website they advertise the Jackal as heavy oil - moderate ball motion. They advertise the Tribal Fire as light/med oil - moderate ball motion.
-
Sigma Sting if you can get one...clean up front with good backend on medium.
-
Sigma Sting would probably be close but it will still be a bit more angular due to the pearl cover. However, it's more of a controlled motion that you'll see that allows it to be a benchmark ball.
You can still find them here: http://www.bowling.com/products/motiv-sigma-sting.htm?gclid=CM-js5eBs8MCFZSMaQodtJ8Aeg

Don't forget the Ascent Apex . .

I recently threw the BA at a demo day and it's similar to the Vengeance I just got, with the Vengeance being stronger off the spot and a better midlane read. Similar shapes for me with the Vengeance slightly stronger overall.

I have tested the Badass. I didn't really care for the motion. Lazy, just like everyone else. If you want something similar you need to consider layouts. NEEDS TO BE PIN DOWN OR VAL OF 55 to 80 TO GET THAT MOTION. I would agree that the Sigma Sting is close. I have mine drilled pin down and it is still stronger and more versatile. I would suggest the original Tribal. Drill it pin down and add surface.
Hope that helps.

Am I the only one whose BA isn't lazy? I went 5 inch p2p, pin down and it really revs up and flies. Hmm.

Try a revolt vegeance or slightly weaker would be the Forza with some surface adjustments.
