Title: 2014 Louisville derby tournament
Post by: VxSaUcYxV on May 12, 2014, 12:34:09 AM
I will be going next weekend (05/17-05/18) Looking for some feedback from people who have already been. How did the lanes play, how was the scoring pace, what reaction worked best for you, and what type of balls worked best for you? Is anyone else here going the same weekend?

I bowled it once so far and will be back June 7-8.

The first go around team was significantly different than d/s (to be fair it was the opposite end of the house so those things can happen, esp on old wood lanes).  For team there was some oil outside and the ball would hang out if you got it too far out.  There WAS a defined out of bounds.  My best look started in around 3rd arrow out to about 8 (hit 6 and it would fall off) with an IQ Tour Pearl at 2000 and moved in (fast 3rd game) from there.

For d/s I started going directly up 7-8 with no sending it right at all throwing a 3000 + snake oil Uproar.  It worked well for the first set (which is oddly  :-\ singles?) and then the last set..........a combination of operator error and the lanes getting really really odd was rough.

I made money on the weekend so that was good but I hope to have a better effort in June.  If anyone is going on June 7-8 give me a shout.......

Hope this helps a little.

Thank you good times, it does help. Seems the shot is a bit tougher then in years past.

I would agree with that.

You can score on it by throwing it well.  It is essentially what I would picture the USBC blue pattern being.

Did you bowl doubles on the higher end and team on the lower end? If so did the higher end play tighter for you or did it have to much hook inside?

I think we were on 19-20 for team, and a few pairs from the top of the house.  Higher end played tighter.

I will be there this weekend, kind of looking forward to it since I took last year off.  I've always had success with Heavier oil balls that have somewhat polished finish, I.E. Virtual gravity nano  Anxious to see what the shot is like as I would told H20 management has created the pattern this year.  Not sure if that is true or false however.

I had some friends that went and they all said they played tighter. We'll be going the last weekend of the month, May 31, June 1, I believe is the dates.
