Chicagoland Open (ABT)
« on: May 23, 2008, 07:48:52 AM »
Who's bowling and when?  I'm signed up for the 6:30 and 8 pm squads Sunday night, just after the re-oil.  I figure doing that accomplishes two things:  I'll see what the shot will be for the semis (the fresh) an I'll limit my opportunities to enter -- I should also have a decent idea of what I need to hit to make the semis as well.

Good luck, Splendor. It be nice to be out there taking a crack at that $10K first prize, but my PBA membership keeps me out. Oh well, the best I ever did in that event was a middle-of-the-road semis finish that was worth $150-175. Then again, I did make something like $450 in brackets and sides during qualifying, so maybe it was worth it.

Anyhow, hit 'em hard. I don't really remember much about how the lanes played up at Espo's. I haven't been up that way since my earliest stints with ABT, which were back around 2000. I like your approach. I always liked going with the later squads as well, that way I knew what I'd need in order to make it, and I wouldn't spend four days calling up to find out where the numbers had moved.

Again, good luck, and be sure to let us know how you come out.

Will do Gene, thanks.  I should have a shot as long as my release is good.  If I'm having a good release day, it usually means I put up a good number.  About 3 years ago I made the finals, and finished tied for 9th.  That was good for $650, so not bad at all!
