Title: Couple Smaller Tournaments in Rockford, IL
Post by: coltfoet5 on November 02, 2005, 08:02:26 AM
there are a few in Rockford

King of the Hill - every saturday at Don Carter Lanes at 12:30, only $22 to bowl + pot money. bowl 3 games, matchplay and so on. more people the better

Also...

First Sunday of the month tournament at Don Carter Lanes, $60 entry, bowl 3 games on harder shot, i believe pba shots or senior tour shots. guarenteed $500 to first. after that money goes up based on 40 bowlers.

I have bowled in the king of the hill a couple of times
and it is a well run tournament. Also some pretty good
bowlers show up every week, makes for some good competition.

I have bowled King for awhile now, and every time this year.  It's a pretty easy shot, with the cut usually around 650.  A lot of the best bowlers from Rockford bowl, so match play is always tough.  I was fortunate enough to make it to the finals once this year, and got destroyed.  Bring dry lane stuff!!  Yes Duke, it is scratch.  I got $125 for 2nd, not including side pots.
