Any Tournaments Near Northwest Indiana?
« on: January 22, 2007, 06:12:06 AM »
Does anyone know of any tournaments coming up that are close to Northwest Indiana for ages 18 and over or 18 and under? Because I really want to start competing in tournaments.

check this out

www.mba300.com

angelfire, there is a tourney every weekend around you, you jsut need to know where to go, and most are resonable as far as entry,  from the sounds of it, i need to look at the possiblitiy of a nice toureny in fort wayne again, I ahve considered running a sport shot/scratch tourney down there

there is one in auburn, one in warsaw, that hits the first two weekends of every month, there is the mba in elkhart area on the 3rd sunday of the month, and i am sure there is a monthly scratch tourney in goshen some time too.  these go on all season long.  for crsher, look into the mba, good stuff in that one, i like it.  and if elkhart is too far, check out the chicagolane ABT tourneys, they have north and south chicago regions

Are you still a youth bowler, or are you competing in adult tournaments?  If you are considered an adult bowler, you should check out the weekly sweeper at Plaza Lanes in Highland.  Every Wednesday night approximately around 9:30 at night Plaza holds a PBA Patterns Sweeper.  It's $20 to enter.  You bowl two qualifying games on the PBA Pattern seen on the show the past week (for example, the Dick Weber Open was on Sunday, so we will be bowling on that pattern this upcoming Wednesday).  If your qualifying score is high enough to make the cut (we usually cut to 32), you go on to match play.  The field keeps breaking down until it gets down to 4 bowlers.  Top 8 spots (assuming 32 make match play) cash, with 1st place usually ranging around $250.

For other adult tournaments, check out this link for the Greater Calumet Area BA... http://www.homestead.com/gcaba/Tournaments.html

I second www.mba300.com

Great tournaments, between 80 - 120 bowlers per month..

Only 3 left this year though...

I am currently in the final year of my youth league. After this year I will be bowling in the adult leagues at Plaza Lanes because it is about 2 minutes from my house.

I agree with Let it Bleed.  Come bowl our sweeper at Plaza to get use to challenging conditions.  If you only bowl on league conditions(especially Plaza'a THS, 12 300s this week), you'll get eaten alive in tournaments.  Get some practice in first or you'll be in for a rude awakening.

The league that I bowl in is not Plaza, it's at Lan-Oak Lanes. But like I said, next year I'm gonna bowl at Plaza in leagues. And as far as that Wednesday night thing goes, I will check into it eventually.
