« on: April 16, 2012, 06:04:00 PM »
What is the shot like this year?
Is Stardust any different this year since I heard they went from wood lanes to synthetics now. And what type of  synthetics did they put in? .................Thanks.

Shot was relatively easy, was a bit squirty outside if you ask me, I had the best look standing 22, playing 17-12 with a Black Taboo at 4000.....in Team and Singles, both on fresh. During doubles I struggled to find a line that would carry....pocket was an easy find all day, carry was suspect especially as things broke down.

To give you an idea.....673 in Team.....leaving the 10 pin 7 times and 7 pin three times..
642 in Singles...leaving the whole back row all set...
542 in Doubles....8, 9 counts in game two alone...again the whole back row all set.

I tried to ball down in doubles twice and play straighter, didnt carry, moved deep inside and didnt carry.

The new lanes are real nice the approaches were a bit tacky but it was humid in there....81 lanes being used is a lot of people

Overall I got frustrated in Doubles or it wouldnt have been such a bad day

Three 300 games thrown throughout the day, all crankers.

Chainsaw SOS................45x5.25x40........OB, 4000 polished

I bowled this last weekend on the fresh on the morning squads.  Bowled singles and doubles first on saturday.  We where on the high end and I played straighter up the outside trying to target around 5.  I started my feet around 10 and by the end of the day saturday I was at 20.  Still playing up the lane with firm speed.

Singles: 695
Doubles: 750 with a 300 game

Team on Sunday.  on the low end I started a little bit left of where I started on saturday.  My spare game was off but shot 227 the first game, 3 open 173, and 2 open 173.  I tried different balls and different angles (loopin around the lane, straighter) couldn't kick the 10 pin to safe my life the 3rd game.

You can get to the hole but I can say it wasn't like getting comfortable at your home house.  The approaches are tacky, but the center did turn the air on pretty early.  I did watch a guy shoot 300 on Sunday morning playing deep, somewhat of a fall back shot.

Good luck

I bowled it this last weekend.  The shot was definitely fair, but don't loose it outside of 5.  I bowled 2 team events saturday.  First set was a solid 659 with a Versa Max playing 13 to 5 at the break point.  Second set was a disappointing 604, I had the right lane but couldn't find the left at all.  Sunday morning was quite a surprise with the approaches.  I have never had so many problems with my footing.  I could not slide at all.  I ended up cutting my approach in half and plant at the line.  Used my brothers pin up Marvel pearl 15-5 for singles and most of doubles. The key for me was the 5 board.  If I hit 5 I was golden, miss outside=missed head pin and pull inside it held but carry was iffy.  The last game I picked up my brothers brand new Hell Raiser Revenge that he just put down and jumped in to 20-5 and shot 300.  Ended up 660 singles and 731 doubles.  We had a college guy that came with us that shot 2200+ all events using a Frantic playing straight up 8.

I bowled yesterday, I had 660 in singles & 706 in doubles. 9 pins, 10 pins, & 2-8-10s (which I leave everywhere) were the common leaves. Currently @ 1385 in scratch doubles.

Team however was a different story. I couldnt find the right angles and struggled mightily with 3 190+ games. Had the dreaded flat 10/4 pin reaction. As a whole, virtually everyone in the building was in the pocket. Carrying however is what seperated the men from the boys.

Fyi, I used a VR Solid, CrossRoad, Marvel Pearl (this ball is really starting to piss me off) & a Victory Road.

Bowled  Single & Dbls last sunday. Filled in for a friend who was bowling roll off in his league for 1st.  In singles had a nice line in game 1 but started leaving flat 10 pins. Made a few moves no better result, changed balls  nothing in 2nd game. so I move out to the 5 board rolled up the back a little more. that worked for me.  Singles shot 215,199 ,245  Dbls was much better stayed around 5 until last game had to move 3+ 2  deeper. Shot 257,247,276 for 780 we are now 2nd in dbls with 1555 with 51 sticks of hdcp. So up 5 was best for me my Dbls partner was swinging it about 18 to 7 and he shot 724.  so I saw guy's playing in there comfort zone and still scoring.

Just my .02 hope that helps some
