Has anyone bowled it this year? How did everyone do?

I run a squad every year.  This year's was two weeks ago.  I did not bowl very well this year - 1308, or something to that effect.  I usually cash on my squad, but this year I did not.  That's OK, though, because I was again able to fill the squad, and that is enough of an accomplishment for me - lol!

As I posted on July 17, one of the bowlers on my squad, Glen Hershberger, a fellow member of BallReviews.com, shot a 263 game on lanes 3 and 4, which was the high game on that pair for the tournament, beating the previous high of 255.  I see that the results posted on the Pete website are current through July 18, but for some reason the high games on each pair are missing.  I hope Glen's score holds up.

BTW, it was a bit weird bowling the Pete on brand new synthetic overlays.

Rick,

What did they do to the synthetic overlays to keep the dots and arrows off the lanes like they did with the old wood??

Unfortunately, I don't know mucn about lane construction, so I can only guess.  Here's what I saw:

First, in past years at Hoffman, starting at the foul line and going toward the pin deck, the lane looked like this:  From the foul line to just past the arrows was a tan colored overlay.  Beyond that was the normal wood lane to the pin deck.

This year, from the foul line to just before the arrows was "normal" looking AMF synthetic lane material.  I don't ever look at the dots, so I don't know if they were there, but I suspect they were (sorry).  Where the arrows should have been was a section of lane of a different color (I don't remember if it was lighter or darker) with no arrows.  Beyond that was "normal" synthetic lane all the way to the pin deck.  It looked like they may have replaced a panel to remove the arrows.

Based on the way they were in the past, they didn't look like I expected them to look with the new synthetics.

I hope this is somewhat clear.

I bowled in it for my first time, and it was very fun. I did horrible, like 11 something.

Would love to do it again, it definitly makes you think, and hope you get lucky

The arrows looked like they were painted over.
Bowled it last night.
Lanes were just as ugly as ever.

I bowl two weeks from today. I can't believe this will be my tenth Pete. It's a long 12 hour drive, but it's worth it for the Cubs game and the food!!!!

Me stupid. Me believe anything. Please tell me what to do.
