Pro Shops in the Chicagoland Area

I use Andy's Pro Shop on 64th and Pulaski in Chicago. Lee is the owner and Scott also drills. Both of these guys have been great the last 4 years I have been using them. I know many people that travel alot of miles to go here and they have been there along time. Both are very wise about drill patterns and surface prep. Its the "Bowlers ER" at River Rand Bowl. His name is William Clark. Here is the shop's number 847-635-7537. His hours are, M-F 1-9 and Sat 11-5?
Great guy and excellent driller. He also have a Big selection of bowling balls. Especially if you like Track, Lane#1 or Morich stuff. He also carries all the other brands and can get whatever you want if he doesn't have it in stock.

Cheap plug alert:  (yea, I know, bad pun on using "plug" when speaking of a pro shop...)

Another North Side shop if anyone's interested, Chicago Bowler's Shop located inside of Brunswick Zone Niles at Milwaukee and Waukegan.  Rich Blake owns the shop, he does great work, a very friendly and knowledgable guy, knows the game inside and out.  I drill part time there as well and I'd definitely go there even if I didn't work there, great shop.

Gotta give Will some props as well, Will Clark out at River Rand knows his stuff, also very friendly, also very knowledgable, definitely well-versed in Track, Lane #1, and MoRich, among others.

I also recommend going to William Clark at River Rand.  I drive over an hour to go to him, and it is more than worth it.  He has a very good selection, and is an excellent driller.  I now own equipment that actually all fits the same.  My scores have gone up tremendously since going to him.

Carl Edelman is no longer at Elk Grove Bowl (Up Your Average), Elk Grove Village, IL. Closed shop.

I'm using Lyle Zikes at Beverly Lanes in Arlington Heights.

Carl drilled for me for about 20 years.
Felt the pro shop business was not a viable way to make a living any longer.

Before Paul (a friend of mine from years of bowling up at Lombard every Sunday, and mutual friends) got his own shop, I was drilling all of my stuff at Eddie's. I'm picky about my stuff, and I let Eddie drill everything. That speaks volumes.

I've been there twice. A friend of mine lives in Lombard, doesn't drive, and changes drillers like he changes his socks, started going to him. I drove him tp Eddie's shop...He did a really good job on his equipment. I knew his dad from back in the day. Nice shop.

Why did you get out of the business? Forced out?
That center has a super nice lefty shot. I thre 4 games with my friend, low game was 245...I'm not that good.

If you have time to make it to the South Suburbs, go see Nate Brown at Bowling Specialists Pro Shop.  The guy is unreal.  He is located inside of Tinley Park Bowling Alley just west of Harlem on 187th street.
