I went to Freeway Lanes this past weekend and heard a wide range of opinions. Care to share yours?

I think that tournament is a great tournament with tons of talent.  The scores in my opinion were low which is good.  However I have to believe there is a way to make them hard on both sides but even between the right and left.  From what I saw of the bowlers only 2 lefties cashed.  One being Cassidy Schaub two hander with a ton on the ball and Don griffin whos very accurate and straight.  What I saw was literally zero for a lefty to even have a chance.  I saw very few righties who were straight do well.  Everyone that was scores was a high rev player playing inside of 20 all weekend. The cut for the top half was -79 for the men.  I believe is was -150? for serniors and -200? for the women.  I was personally -28 at the break and felt I had an ok look however once they reoiled it got much worse.  I would play straight because I had no room to miss either way and same goes for playing inside.  PLaying deep for me was either 3 off the left ot greek church.  I had zero friction down lane unlike the right.  I'm in no way shape or form saying the right have a ton of room down lane but they could get the ball to tip on the back end. I am unsure if I will return or not.  I would like to go back but i would like to see it be a little more even for everyone right, left, crankers, and straght players.  I did see some great bowlers and had a good time.

Like you, I too made cut #1 and was watching after cut #2 was made. I know what you are getting out with the left/right issue. A lot of right handers don’t realize that when we are playing in like we were, it limits the left handers from moving right. In a nutshell, we were standing far enough left to keep the lefties from moving right. I also noticed that bowlers on both sides of the lane trying to force their look on the lane. The plus about being on the right is that we are the majority, therefore we the lane will change faster and often.

On the fresh, everyone had a small window to play but as the day went on, you’re right, the guys who could move in and saw on it watched their look improve as long as they did not cut it short or send it. One thing that shot did was expose the fact that most of us don’t repeat our shot and our spare games aren’t as strong as we think. LOL Far too many people were wasting more time complaining during their 5 game blocks then trying to figure out what was in front of them.

Marty is trying to find an answer but there is not one that will make “everyone” happy. Not to mention, TNBA has to authorize anything he wants to do, so in a lot of ways he’s handcuffed. Freeway dropped the ball too as the women & seniors weren’t suppose to bowl on the “challenging” shot the men played on. Reportedly, those two division were suppose to see a shot with no out of bounds.

Hopefully, people will not “quit” on the tournament because they aren’t averaging their 220 league shot. If they opened the shot up, would not the same good players still rise to the top?
