Bowlers

Just wanted to let you know, VMSBT will be running the 2nd Annual Baltimore/Washington Summer Scratch Classic again at BRC Perry Lanes August 15-16, 2009 paying $3,000 1st place GUARANTEED.  Last year we had 139 entries and we expect that number to increase this year. Just like last year, I will be taking reservations via the website: http://www.vmsbt.com/VMSBT_Form.html and you can also view the flyer for the event there as well: http://www.vmsbt.com/BWSSC_2009.pdf

I will also have the pattern up on the website as soon as I determine which pattern I want to use. As some of you may know, I’m a big fan of Kegel patterns and we will have another one this year.

•   Entry fee:  $140 ($115 prize fund, $20 lineage, $5 expenses) payable by CASH ONLY
•   Survival boards: $10/ea (Starting games 2, 4 and 6)
•   High game pot: $40 (covers all 8 games of qualifying)
•   Winner Take All (WTA): $10 (Game 8 ONLY)
•   Brackets: $5/ea (3 sets) Starting games 2, 4 and 6
•   High Game of Day (Included in entry fee)
•   High Senior out of the money prize (50 and over bowlers)
•   High Female out of the money prize

THE LANES WILL BE STRIPPED AND RE-OILED AFTER THE 9AM SQUAD.

Please pass the word along about this great event to all your friends. We are only taking 88 bowlers per squad.

Looking forward to getting those reservations.

Just to let everyone know. The 9am squad will start at 9:30am. The center needs more time to set up and get everything ready.

I will be sending out an email blast for this as well.

As for sanding your ball and playing up the gutter. I had a real close look at the person who tried that. It was ugly. Oh wait, maybe it's I'm ugly. No, I've got it. It was me trying the gutter. That's it. Yeah! You don't want to be there. LOL

You looked pretty good playing in from the port side at Parkland. I knew you had it in you!

BTW, nice bowling on Sunday.

Is the tournament full?  If not, I would like to register.

Which Kegel pattern are we using?

Tony,

You should tell everyone what pattern or how many feet or what ever it is that people want to hear and come the day of the tournament have it the complete opposite LOLOL......

What is it with people and wanting to know what they bowl on??? All that amounts from it is one of the following:

A) This doesn't play anything like....
B) It was walled on the left side....
C) This isn't fair for the field....

What happened to people showing up at the bowl, putting shoes on and taking advantage of the 15 minutes of practice that we get?? I guess I am just out of my element for thinking like this.

Trump, visit www.vmsbt.com and at the bottom of the page you can click a link that will take you to the registration page. It was a Kegel pattern, one with a defined OB zone.

Gang

Entries are picking up from the NJ/NY area this week. It looks like people really like being able to re-enter and the 9:30am squad is filling. To all of my local folks who are watching this thread.... "Get your reservations in now for the 9am squad!"

All

The link for the pattern is up on the website under the registration page.

I'm really looking forward to seeing those that bowled last year and some of the new bowlers that have never bowled in one of my events before.

Remember, we do accept re-entries if you want to bowl again.

Tony, I assume not but if we are inside the number the first time we bowl and then we bowl again can we cash twice? I guess not but your post doesn't say.
Thanks

Just to piggy back on that thought. I am sure you will not allow cashing twice but if we happen to bowl the first squad and like the previous post says are inside the number, will we be able to at least get the entry back for the second squad?

I had people re-enter last year. Pat McGainey bowled a score high enough to qualify for the finals on both squads. I took his highest qualifying score and threw out the other one.

I didn't give his entry fee back because his re-entry is just another entry and that $115 went into the prize fund. He understood that before he bowled the second squad.

You can only make the finals and or cash once in this event.

Yeah thats really the only fair way to do it.  I mean all your doing is taking a chance if you don't feel your other score is good enough.  However if you have a good enough look and theres enough side action it could be worth bowling again.  I don't really know of a tournament that will actually give you your money back if you beat your previous score.  I know a Hammer Challenge used to let you cash more than once, but any tournament like that is usually just based on a total pin score anyway, no finals afterwards.

How many entries are you up to Tony?

Oh, he totally bowled again for the side action. There was almost 200 brackets per squad last year.

Mike L - We are about the same as last year. We may get some strays from the regional in DE that bowled the first squad and didn't make it on the 4:30pm squad. We are only about 1hr and 20 minutes from the regional.
