Favorites Pro Shops in the NOVA/DC/MD Area?

What pro shops do the DC metro area BR members prefer?  I recently move down here and have yet to really find my local driller.  Any idea where I should check out would be great.

The next time that you go to AMF Ritchie to see Mr. Boreland to get a ball,  please be sure to us their newly refurbished Luster King ball polishing machine. And while you are there be sure to visit their snack bar and get a pretzel. These are not your everyday run of the mill bowling alley pretzels.  These are the best and after you eat one you want more.  And when you are visiting Mr. Boreland be sure to check out his selection of previously used and replugged balls.  You will see those balls on the 3 level turn of the century bowling ball display in the back room in his shop.

You could spend an entire day going to AMF Ritchie to see all that they offer.  From getting a ball from Mr. Boreland (and be sure to see the one of a kind ball rack in the back room) to the Luster King ball polishing machine that is located on the left as you walk in.   You could very easily spend hours there and not even know it!!  It will be well worth your time.

Did you write that post with tongue in cheek?  That's not the AMF ritchie most of us know.  But then maybe its changed in the past year.

I didn't say he was ripping people off, i said overpriced.  I can buy the same ball cheaper at 3 different shops in the area, and not have to buy it twice either.

He does good work, don't get me wrong, but not so much better that I can justify $50 more a ball.

I have been to AMF Ritchie in Glen Burnie, MD to visit Mr. Booreland at the pro shop inside the center.  He did an excellent job with drilling a Black Widdow Hammer ball for me.  I bowl at FT Meade Bowling Center and I have talked with a guy who uses goes to Mr. Booreland to get his equipment.  He is very impressed with the thumb molds that he makes for him.  They are an exact copy of his thumb inserts.  And what I like is that all the balls are alike. I think that I may go to him to get the same thing done.  

Like someone said above, I am not sure why Mr. Boooreland wears a glove?  It is like when Pete Webbber wears sun glasses?  Is he trying to start a fad? I might even start to bowl with a glove on my oposite hand.

And because of the earlier post about AMF Ritchiee, I will visit the center to see the Luster King machine and get some food at the snack bar.

Jim Lewis is my go to guy.  He suggested to shorten my span to aleviate wrist pain.  Pain is gone and I'm shootin what I shot when I was in my mid 30's.  I do believe they need a better file management system as far as your drillings etc.

Richie Wolfe is not there anymore, But Carmon Dons inside of Annandale Bowling center see

    I heard that Scott Booreland of Strike House Pro Shop which is curently located inside AMF Ritchie is moving to Columbia Brunswick.  This is a good thing for me because I live closer to Columbia.  I hope for Scott to drill me a new Hammer ball when it comes out.

    Try Gary "Guru" Parsons two shops. One is located at Capital Plaza in Landover Hills, MD. It's called World Class Bowling Shop.

    And the other is located off Allentown Way in Camp Springs, MD. It's called Red Nelson's Bowler's World. You can't go wrong.

    In Va it's Carmen Don's Sports Plus Shop in Alexandria.

    Of course there's also DP3's shop........but I'll let him tell you about that one.

    These are just my favorites that I've listed.
