Money Bags March 15th

Anyone planning on bowling? $60 to win roughly a $1000 seems to be pretty appealing. I believe it is at Marlow Heights but wanted to know the level of interest. I know there is a 10 gamer that same day as well.

This place was REALLY DIRTY, bro. I mean dried up liquids everywhere. After bowling 5 games there, I need to send my Hy-Road and Cell Pearl for spa treatments! ..... AMF is crazy. They want to charge you $3/gm and they don't put their best foot forward. As a TD, you try to work with the center because I realize that b-day parties and open play is revenue for them. But DAMN, they could at least clean the place and give Money Bags the amount of lanes that they originally agreed upon.

I'm from the DC area and we've lost a lot of centers since '91 and it wouldn't hurt my feelings if that closed down too!....lol... WHAT A DUMP!

HAHA that is comical. There should be a petition to have that building shut down. If birthday and open play is priority then do not agree to host a tournament. How asinine is it to think they can put 8 tournament players on a pair?!!?!? I mean my head will hurt until I bowl another tournament where the pairings are normal LOL.....

By the way, how unfair is it for the tournament director to have to put up with that? I for one feel bad for them as I am sure they did not know that what happened was going to transpire. I only hope there is never another flyer that says anything with Marlow or Heights in the same sentence.

Hahaha be easy Tony. The carpet only looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a decade rather than the buildings existence.

Wow, I'm so glad I bowled in Winchester tournament.  Didn't sound like I missed anything at Marlow.  Even though the scoring pace was medium for most of us at Northside it's 10x more enjoyable than bowling on what was described at Marlow.  Couldn't imagine taking over 5 hours to bowl 5 games either, all the time trying to avoid the wet spots and hoping your ball isn't being distroyed.

Aside from being dirty, I never felt safe.  Is all of P G county that dirty?  I didn't realize a suburb of dc was run down like that area.  The surroundings match the bowling center.....dark and filthy.

80 bowlers!  That is unheard of, especially for guys who are new at this stuff. 8 on a pair is a bad pace and Marlow Heights is one of many AMF centers in the DC area that could be updated and maintained a lot better. I guess they could have capped it at 6 on a pair and sent 20 home, but most tournaments don't turn down lines of bowlers, if they get them at all! I guess some must like the payoff if they are repeat bowlers.  I want to know how did they get 80 bowlers to come out to a local, 1 squad tournament? That's a big accomplishment, I'm impressed.

Not all of PG county is that bad.  There are pockets in the county that are pretty nice.  They are few but, they are still there.  Laurel is probably the best of the county.  I am a little prejudice though I grew up in Laurel and still work in that area and my mom still lives in Laurel.
