Title: MD summer bowlers are on crack
Post by: Mr Straight Ball on May 12, 2005, 02:36:38 AM
It's funny how the B'more bowlers are signing up to bowl Ritchie's triples league. Think about it...
-Last summers champs are coming back and they were running people over
-One of the bowlers averaged 247 in a winter league there, 10 800's in 1 league
-Will have to shoot 250's to have a chance in brackets

Can come down the street 1.5 miles and shoot 220-230's to get paid in brackets. Guess bowling is all about over inflating our egos these days.

It's typical of alot of area bowlers to play the cake houses instead of going somewhere a little bit tougher or trying a SPORT league for the summer(which Bill Thomas is promoting his heart out for).  I think it's pretty sad that people would rather come home saying "Yeah, scores was crazy tonight, I didn't make any money, but I shot 730" rather than saying "Yeah I shot 780(for 4 games) on sport tonight and cashed in all my brackets".  But hey, what can ya do?  I think people can make fools out of themselves just bowling the cake houses and that's it than bowling anything with a little credibility involved(or ...::GASP!!::...a Scratch Tournament!)

Ritchie offers 5 grand for first, or at least they did when I bowled there. In all honesty no team will beat Ko Whittington, Roger Barnes, and Howard Marshall on that wall in Ritchie. Too talented.  My team finished 3rd in that league last summer. However Bowl America is an easy house too. Not as easy as Ritchie but a cakewalk nonetheless. To be frank, most houses in Maryland are way too easy.
