Not only is the address the same but the website construction is very similar as well. It's a little odd

It's odd that a company has more than one website?  Most, if not all, of the bigger bowling e-tailers have more than one website.

They're re-branding their clearance section as they always have access to a lot of clearance inventory. The new website is just a white-labeled version of buddies. In my last communication with Buddies regarding this, they have a designated manager for this project which will coincide with their marketing efforts online for this "new brand".

I've already seen ads on Facebook for bowlingballdepot.com in my newsfeed.

I wish there was a way to sort by brand within the different product groups.  But nothing out of the ordinary for there to be two separately run sites.  Retail does this a lot with separate sites for "Outlet" stores from their main store.

Wait until the next clearance run, late october.

Doesn't look like the next clearance run has hit yet. Keeping an eye on the Depot until it does. Will post if there's anything nice.

The Cutting Edge and Turmoil balls are still $79.95.

Totally useless sorting on that site.  Unless you know specifically what you want, good luck.

Seems pretty easy to navigate around the site and there is a search bar to locate items fast. What problem sorting were you having?

I think it's a little clunky too. It's the same thing for Buddies and BowlingBallDepot. Seems like they would be better off with the checkbox style sorting bar to the side. Not sure that's totally on them, more like whatever company they have designing the site. Still something Buddies/Depot could fix though.

On the other hand the search bar function is great.

Only thing I don't like is you can't seem to pick a specific pin/top weight... You can only request

Even though a competitor bowlingball.com got a lot of business from me just because how it easy it is to filter for exactly what you are looking for.  Buddies is still the go to for Big B family clearance items though.

After 4 of the worst ball reactions I've ever seen out of Edge Solid, Edge Pearl, Radical Tremendous, and DV8 Rumor, I wouldn't pull the trigger on another Big B closeout ball for $19.99.

FWIW, I've seen the "Black Friday" closeout sheet from a few distributors and there's going to be some CRAZY deals for <$89

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the Edge balls so I stayed away from them. Never had a need for the Tremendous. Don't think that was a very popular "remake" of the Guru.

Thought the Rumor was pretty good though. At least from what I've seen. But those mid-RG cored balls can be tricky sometimes.

For what it's worth I just had my 29.99 (from Buddies last year) Rack Attack Pearl drilled. It more than doubled the money I spend on it the first night it was used. Of course that was known as a good ball where a lot of the discontinued stuff from the Big B brands is meh. Seems like the good stuff doesn't last or is scooped up too quick.

Really interested to see what the Black Friday closeout sheet is and if it makes it to the online stores...
