I want to get one of my pieces plugged and marked so that I can legally make the swap from 1hand to 2handed, but my local guy is a real old-timer stick in the mud.
As far as I can tell, I'd just need the thumbhole drilled and an x engraved for my palm. Nothing too intensive
I've not used Buddies or any online pro-shop before, any idea which of the options on their site is what i'm looking for? Or if there's a better online service, any recommendation is appreciated.

You are correct, you can just plug the thumb and mark your palm. Technically I would recommend you do a full plug and redrill using the 2LS from Storm as it fits seem to make a noticeable difference.
Using online options, in my opinion, only makes sense for buying new. Sending one in for plug work seems like a loss of money and time, and shipping hassle.
