Ballcellar.com BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: October 13, 2003, 09:30:06 PM »
I talked to Jeff who is the owner first of all I bought 4 balls from him this summer gave me a fair deal then I went back to buy 4 more and he would not return calls and then he had the nerve to tell me he had called me at work several times which i recieved no messages.  I purchased another 3 balls from him on his website because on ebay after I purchased the others he had me blocked for some unknown reason.  I paid timely and smooth transaction from my end.  After I got the other balls I got a hotwire had it drilled up and it cracked to left of my middle finger emailed him several times explaining to him that i bought it from him and expected him to warranty the ball.  He told me to have my local proshop take care of the warranty.  So therefore does not give service and stand behind his sales.  Told me that it was probably a bad drill and my pro shop was mad because I bought the ball cheaper online and not for retail from them.  Well I live in a small population area and balls do not sell anywhere close to retail and my driller is a former PBA member for 9 years.  He is retired and drilling balls out of his garage for a past time.  He is not needing to make a BIG profit so he does it for satisfaction of watching someone succeed with a ball he drilled.  I highly do not recommend ballcellar the guy was a real jerk to me.  If you look in his ebay negative feedback on anyone that had a negative you can see by his responses that he was very unproffesional.  Any further questions let me know I would be glad to answer them.

Absolutely horrid.

You know, I saw a ball on ebay the other night that I found interesting... went to bid and say ballcelalr.com, so I passed. Don't need the hassle.

This proves the same fact I have said all the long.  Jeff is not professional at all and calls himself a PRO SHOP?????  Hmmmmmmmmm.  Well I called him several times too and he claims to have tried to call back but did not because I gave him my work number and someone is there all the time during the times he claimed to have called.  I am just wondering how he can call himself a PROshop?????  hmmmmmmmmmmm.  Well Johnsland I recommend you contact ebay and file a complaint against him so we can get the word out to ebay and maybe eventually get him kicked off ebay.  After one purchase I did with him everything went smooth before I even had these problems he had me blocked as a buyer from him for ebay.  That was after a smooth transaction go figure?????  The guy is just a plain old unprofessional jerk.

FWIW, I have gone through ballcellar on a couple of items and never had a problem- he came through on requested specs.  Issues with warranty are something that I have fortunately never had to deal with, but for the most part, I know that the potential lack of seller assistance on a warranty matter is part of the price one pays to buy cheaply over the internet instead of a brick and mortar shop.

hey if you get a ball online then it is YOUR responsibility if it cracks once its drilled. Once it leaves his shop its not his problem. If you had Jeff drill it he would have fixed it. I have never had a problem with a ball cracking so i would assume that it was infact a poor drill.  I have dealt with him before and had absolutely no problems at all with him. I had him drill a ball and send it to me, and it was exactly as i asked. So I think you are full of it if you think this is his fault and you have a right to bad mouth him about a ball that is not his issue. If you don't want to deal with it then buy it at YOUR OWN proshop. Sometimes its not the fault of the seller, its the guy buying it who thinks somebody owes him the world. So now go ahead and rip me apart but you know i speak the truth.

Well crankncrash you are entitled to your opinion.  But frankly all I am warning people about is he is not professional and if you go and read his negative feedback on ebay or this whole post from day one then you would understand.  So before you jump to conclusions read ALL the details.  I would encourage anyone to read what happens when somebody has a problem and BIG BAD JEFFY goes ape on them.  If you have a good transaction then he is cool but if you question something he goes all unprofessional on ya.  There is plenty of backup feedback in this WHOLE post from others as well as his ebay negatives which all can explain themselves.  He does not return phone calls in a timely manner if at all and then he says he tried calling hmmmmmmmmmm.  Also I was not expecting the world all I asked for was some help.  He would not even be nice about that after purchasing multiple balls from him this past summer.  You think after 4 balls someone would sit up and take notice and say repeat customer lets try and understand him.  But obviously to him he sells SO MANY balls that to him one customer will not kill him.  Wrong attitude when you call yourself a PRO SHOP.  Well once again I encourage everyone to read all his posts and his ebay feedback when it is negative it will speak for itself.  Save yourself some pain just do not buy from Jeff.

I wanted to order a few things from them last week.  I called several times and left emails and never got ahold of them.  Answering machine said to leave a message but what's the point when I called 10 times during normal business hours and no on ever answers.  Needless to say buddies pro shop got my $300 worth of business.

Erase this, I know what you have gone through, I bought three balls from ballcellar back in JULY 03, 2 of which were "buy it now", I sent an e-mail saying I was looking for 2 balls with spefific specs, and if he had them in stock i would buy them.  He responded very quickly, I asked for a Wicked B/R/T, with a 3" pin, Ebonite Warrior with a 3" pin and a Icon 2 3" pin.  What he sends me was all together just bad customer service.

What I got was a Wicked that was cracked, a warrior that had a 1" pin, but a icon 2 that was what I asked for.  He then tells me to not contact UPS, that he will do it, to save the ball and he will get it replaced.  Well it is FEB 04 and I still have the cracked wicked, he made me wait so long that I couldn't even put negative feedback on his Ebay account.  He kept telling me that UPS was looking into it, that to just be patient.

Finally the last sign that insured me that I was ripped off was that I send him the last e-mail and he answers back with "What am I supposed to do"?  He then tells me to send it back to Columbia or have my local proshop deal with it, its not his fault.  The problem that he had was that UPS would not cover it, because the box was not damaged in transit, so he wouldn't help me and I was SOL.

To say the least I will never get a ball from this rip off artist.

Thanks for posting the information and backing me up on this hitsomeballs.  There are so many people defending Jeff saying that I do not know what I am talking about.  Like I said before if it is a positive transaction it goes smooth but as soon as there is a problem he goes ape on ya.  Lets just say ITS NEVER JEFF'S FAULT!!!!!  There is plenty of proof listed here in this post if you track it back in your settings and I encourage everyone to read his NEGATIVE posts on ebay he has lots of positives but like we said once it turns to him taking care of something SORRY CHARLIE!!!!  BUYERS BEWARE!!!!

well i have been biting my tongue for a while on this one lol my opinion is that when buying a ball on the internet, if i buy from an individual, i have to figure i am dealing with the company myself if is does crack etc, although i do expect a ball exactly as stated . if i am buying on the internet from a proshop.. aka ballcellar, or any other i expect them to stand behind my purchase fully, after all internet or not they are still advertising as a proshop, if they arent a proshop, that would be sorta like fraud in my opinion and i would take action necessary. i buy all of my balls from the internet, my local pro shop who drills them hated it at first but has learned to live with the fact that he can make 50 bucks drilling it in little time.i own my own business and have found out that great work travels slowly but crappy work travels very fast. if i was jeff i would have just replaced the ball no questions, once i received it back and verified (by the track) how long the ball was actually used, would have seemed the easiest way. i also believe that erase this has made this a personal vandetta to try and ruin this guys business, this is wrong also. fact is though jeff, you seemed to make things worse by acting exactly as erase this stated, very unprofessional and well just plain old stupid. i could see if the guy was a first time buyer but he is buying like 4 to 5 balls a year from you.. problem with todays world no loyalty at all. bottom line is erase it should give it a break and contact storm directly about the ball, and to jeff you should maybe just answer in a professional manner and back up your sales. one thing is for sure here..I WOULDN'T BUY A THUMB PLUG FROM YOU JEFF, sorry but it has nothing  to do with erasethis's problems or anyone else 5000 balls a year you expect it, you sir have stuck your own foot in your own mouth ...erasethis drillwizard, buddies and doug sterner stand behind their sales stick with the winners just my two cents
