Title: BowlersPalace.com
Post by: charlest on May 18, 2011, 05:18:26 AM
WARNING: Read Triggerman's reply below before ordering from this place.
(Kind of a shame)

I found this place a short time ago. It's located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I'm pretty sure it's a side business of a regular pro shop. Their prices are very good and their service seems excellent.

I am noting all this because I ordered 2 balls from them recently, one very hard to find and one recently discontinued. They had to order both since they had neither one in stock. (Note these were 2 separate occurrences!) They got them within a day or two AND they shipped them out the same day they got them. I'm sure they made minimal profit on each, given their prices but their prompt service and communications (once by phone and once by email) were stellar.

If you're considering an online purchase, I think it would be worth your while to take a look at their website to see if they can be of service to you. I have only ordered balls from them so far.

Here is their website: BowlersPalace.com

No, I don't work for them, I don't know them and I don't get any kickbacks or commission.

Good to know Charlest, a place that close would be one day shipping for me.

magician,

It was one day from Indiana to New Jersey. I was shocked and pleased.

I still won't say that they're as good as Buddies (not yet), because I've been pleased with them for YEARS, almost 10 or so. But they're sure worth a shot.

Maybe give them a call.

After I posted this originally, I sent them an email telling about ballreviews.com and this post and they didn't reply either.

I'll add it to my list. You can never have too many sources.

just a heads up, I am not sure who is working the site as bowlerspalace is part of the thunderbowl bowling alley pro shop and last I heard, middle of may time frame they let everyone go and shuttered the doors in the shop (temporarily, I spoke with someone and was asked if we could take care of some of their repairs if needed)  I am told they will reopen but not till this fall, and not sure if it includes the website or not

Charlest, not sure how they could get you a ball from fort wayne to Jersey in 1 day, its two days by fedex and ups no matter how you slice it, they could have ordered said ball from Ace Mitchell and got it there in that time frame

all I know is that of the 4 shops in fort waye with mine being one of them we are down to 2.5 shops (the .5 shop has someone sitting at the counter, thats about it)  and I am seeing more and more thunderbowl bowlers in the last month then ever before

might be the reason for no email return for those looking for them

Thanks for the update, Chris.

Kind of a shame when an apparent  good place gets closed.

Not sure how it took only one day to get to me. As I said, I was shocked.

Hope you get all Thunder Bowl's business.

I think I should lock this topic, but I'll put a warning in the intro first.

newbie101,

I think you should look elsewhere. Based on triggerman's reply, I don't think you'll get a reply to your email.

yeah I have not spoken with management out there for since I was in Reno in middle of may, but he called me and asked us to do some repairs as they had decided to go a different direction, he cleaned house and closed the shop, they are supposedly expanding, I have not been out there to take a peek at what is going on, but have seen a large influx of bowlers that would frequent that shop walking thru my doors asking for assistance

fingers crossed we will have our site up and running soon, I have several distribs around the country so I am hoping that shipping times will be greatly reduced for many of you

If i hear anything else about the shop reopening I will be sure to pass it along, maybe a call is in order to find out what they are going to do with the website and see if I can get some more information for the users on here
