I purchased a Up-Rising on 11-26 received it on dec. 5th and multiple e-mails later they have yet to make thing right by me. O.K. the problem when ordering the ball I asked for 2"-3" pin, 3-4oz top and 15lbs 2oz-15lbs 5oz over all weight. I ended up with 2"3" pin 2 1/2oz top and a ball weight of 15lbs 8oz yes that is correct 15 1/2lbs. their only response to this was that they promise to meet top weight within 1/2oz and over all weight within 3oz that is why they sent me 15lbs 8oz. this is the exact wording to their response. I then sent them another message  
saying so you stuck me with a ball 15 1/2lbs because you could also I turned thing around on them because they say on their web sight 15lbs 7oz - 15lbs 10oz is consider medium weight and is stated as such. So currently on jan. 2nd I am out the money but no new ball and no response from them since dec. 11th.

bowler851, have you been able to reach a compromise with bowlingball.com or have they told you to pound sand and which lake to do it on?

I opened thread knowing it would be some silly complaint to bowlingball.com.

After opening thread, my prediction came true.

LOL @ complaint.  LOL @ not knowing how to drill weight out of ball.  LOL @ 3 oz.

The ball is a mid-weight piece and would be sold as such on eBay in a few weeks with the understanding that it would NOT fetch the same price that a non mid-weight ball would bring.  These pieces are often liquidated late in the production or post production to clear remaining inventory.  An UpRising is not discontinued merchandise nor is it nearing the end of it's run.  Or, am I wrong about this?

I don't feel John Congdon "did this on purpose" like you claim.  I think the order picker probably didn't understand the policy.  They did say you would receive the credit & you still attacked him.  

Maybe next time don't put a range.  Put the weight you actually want or an ounce less.  Then you're covered.  Sounds like you want something more though. You seem to know an awful lot about their policy & what is claimed to be a mid weight & yet you put 15lb 5oz high range out there, knowing that it could go 3 more ozs from it.  You also "know they have a ball that meets" your request.  Makes one go hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I have seen a few balls in the 15.8 area. They are very hard to find for some reason but I have seen a few of them. I for one would love to have that as a starting point. After drilling you would be right around 15.5, might be wrong on the figures.

15# 8 oz is considered a midweight and storm sels them to pro shops and distributors at a $30-40 discount over the price of a "regular" wt ball.

The customer has every right to be upset.

Some good points you make here, however I have had customer's reject a ball that was 1-2 oz. off.  It happen's,  they wanted 15 lbs. 3 oz.  not  15 lbs. 4 or 5 oz.    They want 2 3/4 top weight, not 3 1/8 top weight.  They want a 2" pin, not a 1 1/2 " pin.   we deal with this type of stuff EVERYDAY.

So if a customer is buying from an online dealer,  then he should get what he asks for, cause when he buys it from us,  we have to get him what he wants!!!!

And it's not what the ball weighs after drilling,  it is what the ball weighs before drilling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You tell me you want 15 lbs 3 oz.  I order that.  No substitutes.
Now do I think 1 or 2 oz is a big deal?   Not to me, but if it is to the customer, then it is!!!!

Online dealer was wrong here,  cased closed.

Well you may be right.  But one of my customers that I was talking about, Drills about 20 new balls a year.  And if he or she feels that they want 3 oz instead of 4 oz.   3 oz.  it is.

So I will not be calling them a bunch of whiny azz babies anytime soon.

Jthales,  If you can read,   it took 6 emails and 41 days to get his problem solved.

If you requested up to 15lb 5oz and their policy is +- 3 oz, seems like they filled the order properly. It would have been so easy to drill the finger holes just a touch deeper and balance hole to take out another 2 oz, so really your getting awefully upset over 1oz. .4% of the ball weight. Did you even have somebody weight ball. Box labels are not always perfect. It could have been even lighter. Seems like your getting all worked up over something pretty minor. Glad they resolved the problem for you though.

May I answer that???

What you said is kinda sorta right.  But 2 oz. would need a big balance hole.

Now this may shock you, but many, many bowlers out there, do not like balance holes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The other day I had to drill a Virtual with no bal. hole.  The customer,  you know the one paying for the ball, DID NOT WANT OR LIKE BAL. HOLES.

I did not tell him that he was getting all worked up over nothing.

I did what he wanted.  Drilled it without a bal. hole.

This is what some call,  good customer service.  You know, give the customer, the one paying, what they want.  Even if you think it is wrong.
