Title: Buddies pro shop - drilling costs
Post by: MTbowler on December 29, 2014, 06:38:47 PM
After reading all the reviews on here, it is clear that buddies is top notch when it comes to drilling & customer service. I am interested in going through them and am hoping that someone that uses them can help me out.

If I buy a ball from Buddies for $150 and have it drilled w/ finger inserts and a thumb slug, what would the final cost be?

I am trying to compare costs to local shops...

Thank you!

Go to their website. They have a section for drilling and all of the types of drilling they offer. If you have any additional questions, shoot them a email. They will respond quickly.

 $150 for the ball
 $50 for drilling with inserts and thumb slug
-$20 DRILL20 coupon code
   $0 ground shipping
===
$180 out the door

Without the coupon code it's probably close to most pro shops, but on the other hand you don't have to pay sales tax if you go through buddies.

and not to mention, if your ONLY local pro shop within a 100 mile radius can't hit a span to save his life, why would someone continue to spend good money there? Makes no sense! Continuing to throw money at someone who has no idea what he/she is doing only makes the sport worse as others will become frustrated/etc with an inconsistent grip/etc.

Only support the local pro shop when the local pro shop provides quality work. The value of a quality pro shop and the operator(s) is priceless.

I'm all for that, but my bad experiences when I first moved here was horrible. From a HOF tour pro to "franks" pro shop. Until I met two guys who worked locally for a short time, till they left. I didn't want to drive 2 hours away as well...... so I went to buddies proshop for awhile, till I met someone who was less than an hour away......
