Title: Buddies Pro Shop-just wow
Post by: Track_Fanatic on January 01, 2015, 11:16:47 PM
I have been wanting to do an IT system. I sent them a ball that was the best fitting ball I had. Provided my specs which they did verify. Bought a ball from them along with changing over to the IT on the ball that was sent. Everything was spot on!  Now to start the process of changing over my other equipment. Definitely a positive experience. Chris was awesome, excellent communication throughout. I would certainly not doubt going to them to drill new or have them work on current equipment you own. Even though they are miles and miles away, they treated me with respect and answered all questions I asked.

+1. Buddies has always given me better service from afar than any of the local pro shops. I'll absolutely support the local shops, as soon as I find one who can come close to Buddies, but the last 4 local shops haven't even been close. Drilling's great at Buddies, communication's great, knowledge is top notch...
'Nuff said. Go with the quality, wherever you can find it.

Based on everyone's experience, how long have you had to wait for a ball to be drilled and shipped after ordering from Buddies?

It's really hard to say. I would say if you order a ball from them at the beginning of a week, expect about a 10-14 calendar day turnaround. I'm assuming it depends on the volume of orders they get plus if you need to send them a ball.  If you have any questions, I would reach out to them directly they do respond quickly. I happen to send and order during the holidays so I know that also would delay things somewhat

Both balls I ordered were drilled in 1-2 days, but needed 5 days to ship to me. Just ask them what the current backlog is. They have been straight up with me so far on timing.

I will reach out to them and see what the backlog is looking like. I ordered the ball on the 15th of January and it has not yet been shipped. I have also not heard anything.

I had 2 balls drilled and shipped by Buddies last year at 2 different times. I live in OK, so it take a week (5 working days) to recieve a ball  once it si shipped. I am sensitive to feel, so  I always request that Chris drill my balls because he is so accurate with the span and pitches . The first ball it took approx 10 days to receive it. The second ball approx 14 days because Chris was having to participate in some type tournament thing at the time, so it took longer. However it was worth the wait becasue of the accuracy of his drilling.

Chad is really great at helping and answering questions, so when ever I have a question about anything, I always communicate with Chad.

Buddies is a great place to buy a ball. As said earlier, they are professional, helpful and very respectful. Chris and Tim do a great job and Chad knows what's going on. Never be afraid of doing business with them. Depending how busy they are and if the guys are bowling tournaments, the turnaround on average is 10 days on a ball being drilled.

Most likely a coincidence, but a couple hours after I posted my question on this board, I was contacted by Tim regarding my ball. He asked several questions and seemed very invested. He stated he would get the ball punched up tonight and sent out tomorrow.

Very impressed by their willingness to contact each customer to ensure each order is exactly to the customers specifications. I am excited to get the ball as this is the first one I have ordered online. If ball fits well and is a match to my specs and layout requests, I will definitely be a repeat customer. Based on the detail of his questions, I am confident that Buddies is a very professional company.

With the Drill20 coupon and free shipping, the deal is close to impossible to beat.

Thanks for everyone's feedback about the shop.  Chris and Tim are working non-stop to get all the orders out in a timely fashion.  I have moved to California, but I am going to start taking a more active role on the forum for the shop. Over the years, we have slowed down posting to focus on other area, but we realize that is a very important part of bowling.

If anyone has any questions or concerns, please call the shop directly.  Everyone in the shop is more than willing to help each and every customer.

Several weeks ago, I had a motiv ascent apex ball that was shipped to me, and it was stolen, I contacted UPS on the matter, and they were no help...

Contacted Chad, who in-turn, called them directly to find out if they replace, needless to say, I moved on from it, chalked it up as a loss, only to see that Chad had called me tell me that he has shipped me another one for my inconvenience ( was not home when package was delivered to me and was left at my apartment door).

Buddies is a class-act, and they will ALWAYS recieve my business,I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

For future reference, the sender is the one that needs to file the claim with UPS, and the sender is responsible for the item until it is received.

So if you order anything from any online company and don't receive the item it is the responsibility of the sender to resend or refund.  If the vendor is not cooperative contact your credit card company.

I have purchased numerous balls from them and the turn-around time has been less than one week.  Great sales, accurate drilling and professional.

+1 on Buddie's. Love their prices, quick shipping, videos, and the fact that they are a real brick and mortar pro shop!

So far I have had only one ball drilled by Buddies, but I can not say enough good things about them.  I sent them my stats, along with a ball with my Turbo Switch Grip installed.  They called me to discuss my stats before drilling. They drilled the new ball I ordered perfectly.
The whole process went quickly, 4-5 days to ship them my ball (they pay & provide the shipping label), 2-3 days to drill the new ball, and 4-5 days to get both balls shipped together back to me.  On my next ball purchase, I will be going back to Buddies.

Ordered my second ball from Buddie's and I was just a little nervous because this time, because they went by my stats and specs on file. The last time they had a ball (with Switch Grip, both inner and outer installed) to go by.
Well I ordered the ball (Radical Score) Friday, 7/24.  It was drilled and shipped on Monday, 7/27 and received today 7/30.
To me that's quick service.  The ball was drilled perfectly.  These gentlemen are accurate, my switch grip fit perfectly.
I will be trying the ball tomorrow in my summer league.  If it reacts like my Reax Gusto that they drilled, I will be completely satisfied.  I have a feeling I will.

Since the time of my initial post, I've had I think 10 balls switched over and I have also bought 4 balls and I could not be any happier. I order an additional 2 IT slugs and they were just the same as the ones I got from the original 2. Got some new accessories too. Everything was also shipped quick too. I will definitely continue to do business with them.

I used to order from buddies and never had issues. Now that I found a good shop just outside of town, it's been a while since I used buddies. It takes about 7 days to get a ball drilled and shipped. Sometimes its less than that, and I'm in the west coast.

My local pro shop recently closed.  Perhaps I will look in to this as a possible solution.  Buddies is my go-to source for products and supplies, so it would make sense to just make it a "one-stop shop".  They also have a satellite pro shop in a bowling center about 70 miles away from me which is also a possibility.

My prior PS was charging $50.00 for a drilling (when purchasing the ball from him), $15.00 for the Turbo grip outer sleeve, and $10.00 for finger grips for a total of $75.00.
Buddie's charges $52.95.  That's a savings of $22.05 and then if you are able to buy a closeout ball at a great price, you save a lot of money.

I can only say great things about them with doing the IT system and copying the thumb Since I am a Vise guy.

Like I previously stated, I originally sent them a ball with both the outer and inner thumb switch grip.  They copied it  for future drillings.
When I ordered my next ball they drill the switch grip thumb from the measurements on file.  They drilled the switch grip thumb perfectly.  These folks know what there doing.

Xrayjay,
Wasn't aware of the coupon.  Is it always available or does it have an expiration date?

They haven't put an expiration date on them. I've used it multiple times. In fact, the last ball I got a few weeks ago I used it.

When I sent them a ball so they could copy the thumb hole and use a thumb insert inside the IT slug it was perfect of the 2 they did at the beginning and then when I recently ordered 2 more they were also perfect. I didn't have to do any adjustments. Not even a minute adjustment. That's how good they are. At least for me.

Just ordered my third ball (DV8 Vandal) on closeout from Buddie's.  Ordered it on Friday.  It was drilled and shipped on the following Monday.  Received it on Thursday.  The ball fits perfectly along with my favorite layout.
Buddie's is the very best at what they do.  Highly recommend them.  You won't be disappointed.
