Title: Discount Bowler.com info.? Problems?

Greetings,

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place or where to turn. Has anybody done business with Discount Bowler.com (Webster, NY)?

I placed and order with them over a week ago, received an email saying "shipped" yet USPS tracking says "pre-shipment" and they'd not received the item.

Discount Bowler's toll free phone # doesn't work, the non-toll free # goes to voicemail with no identifying message and they don't respond to emails. Of course the credit card has been charged. There's no way to cancel the order and credit my credit card account if I can't contact them!

Thanks for any advice.

You can always dispute the charges with your credit card provider.

I thought I'd save that as a last resort.

I want to give the vendor a chance to make it right....

That's good. I've dealt with Jim for 8 - 10 years now, but only for small items, via the internet. He's not the fastest in replying to emails, but he always does come thru. His prices on the items he does sell are incredibly low.

He or his employee may have prepared your order for shipment and then forgotten to give it to the shipper. That happens in a lot of places. For instance, I got an email from another company saying the item was shipped on Friday; I kept checking USPS - they don't have it yet. It was actually shipped today Wednesday.

I don't know what email you used, but this is the one I use for him: jim@alleycatproducts.com

It was ordered on 11/27, shipped 12/6. It turns out that one of the items was out of stock and a substitution provided.

Lack of information, communication and access to him was the problem.

I think for the future, if time is not an issue, I'd still buy from him as the prices are good. If time is a factor, I might shop elsewhere.
