Middleman Bowling
« on: March 10, 2003, 04:28:12 AM »
Has anyone ordered from middlemanbowling.com???  I place a order well over a week ago and 11 days after the order was placed, I was told the product was on back order.  I would think he would know a little sooner then that!!!

The Mezz is just jealous he isn't as successful as a 14 year old & takes every opportunity to bash him, yet he hasn't ever ordered from him or had first hand experience with Middleman. Hardly a reputable source of info.

I would reccommend e-mailing or phoning Gabe. He should be able to help you out.

As far as stuff being on backorder, with us coming to the end of the season I know a lot of the pro shops I work with are doing their yearly scramble to get as much of this years stock out the door & a lot of distributors are not replying to pro shops until they absolutely KNOW they cant deliver. It took my local pro shop 4 days to get a straight answer yes or no from their distributor on a pair of shoes I wanted.

I'm not trying to make excuses for Gabe, I just know the heck I went through myself trying to order my new shoes through some very trustworthy local shops.

I think the problem can in with lack of communication from Gabe to Brian.  Brian emailed him over and over and got a different answer everytime.  One time he was told they were shipped but that there was no tracking number things like that.  Then two weeks later Gabe finally replies telling him they are on back order.  Customer service is good communication.  I realize that things happen and you cannot always get things out for whatever reason, but don't just ignore people.

Gabe does not have very good customer relations skills, my ball was never sent out even though he said it was it took me over a month and a half to finally get a refund.  I personally would not recomend buisness with Gabe.

Middleman seems to be a hard one to figure out.  Several people swear by him, others swear at him.  No middle ground for Middleman.

I understand Gabe not firing back at some of the people who trash him who have never used his business.  Lately, there have been challenges by dissatisfied customers that have gone unanswered.  Ignoring the problems will not make them go away.

I have not used Middleman, so I'm not for or against him.  Just curious why he hasn't answered his critics.  I did ask him about a few balls and he always got back to me in a reasonable amount of time.  Gabe did put a post in the Miscellaneous section saying he will be unavailable for a few days.  I hope he replies here when he returns.

Whats the story Gabe no reply.  You seem to have been having quite a bit of problems lately.  Are you not going to explain or would you rather just lose the business and any referrals.

It seems to me that he is taking people's money without first checking to see the availability of the items.  If so, that is STUPID!  Advertising a product, then taking people's money without making sure that its available is bad business practice.  Throw in lack of communication and what do we have?

If I place an order with someone, I want to know whether its going to be shipped when they get my money, or if the product is not available and will be backordered.  Why wait for something when you can get it somewhere else.

Oh, and have you ever heard of "you get what you pay for?"  You all wanted cheap and now your cheapness is on backorder.  LOL!  There are so many reputable pro shops here on BR like Doug Sterner and Buddies so why try to save a few pennies?  Are you bowlers that hard up?

I would hardly call that successful.

You're a little late on the ball here.

Gabe's not selling bowling balls anymore & sold his site to Bowler's Paradise.

Look at the dates on the previous posts man.

Leave it to Plamor to bring up a dead topic...especially since, as Bjaardker so aptly noted, Gabe is no longer in business and has openly acknowledged his errors on this site.
