Ebonite purchased all the tooling. I would have to a new design, the Break is our first launch and the Heist have performance characteristics similar to the Phoenix.

I really don't think you can count the "deal" on the old Track stuff as "undercutting" pro shops.

I think it's widely known that some incredible deals were made on that stuff right around the time when the buyout happened. We all saw the postings about the large list of close-outs and discounts, although nobody ever said anything about the prices that were listed.

If people were selling the Circle balls for $60 shipped and still making money, I don't think it is unreasonable to believe that somebody can sell Equations at that cost and still be making money.

There are a ton of new releases coming out, so maybe they are trying to reduce inventory to make room for the new stuff.

Nobody will talk about pricing, but it's been said that it costs under $20 to make a ball. So, if the manufacturer has a 100% markup to the distributor, that's $40 a ball. If the distributor marks up another 100%, we have $80.

Now if the manufacturer wanted to dump the rest of the inventory before the buyout, they might be happy to make $5-10 a ball, so the distributor buys more and can (doesn't mean they will) sell for $50-60 and keep the same profit margin.

im gonna have to agree with playndag on this one...how is him selling track equipment, which he purchased for his shop unfair to other shops...they could have done the same thing...i must be missing something

btw look what i started with this topic..almost 13,000 views!

not unfair at all for a pro shop to reduce and sell old equipment.
however the buyer said his e-mail address was global300 related.
which can be taken to mean that the seller of the equipment was not a pro shop, but a ball company.

which can be taken to mean that the ball company was selling directly to the consumer, bypassing the pro shops. if true!!!!

as it now appears, the buyer bought these ball from a pro shop on closeout.

don't understand where the global300 e-mail related thing came into play.

I guess I am still confused by Jls. as playndog is a pro shop and there was a list that went out on closeouts. It is not undercutting pro shops but there was some stock left over at Globals warehouse after the buyout. I don't see anything wrong with Global trying to get rid of equipment that is just sitting around taking up space in their warehouse. I believe that the closeout list was givin to all proshops and staff members but I might be wrong. If that is the case how is that selling to the general public?

We at Global had nothing to do with this. Eboite had purchased all the remiaining inventory, my assumption is that they sold it off or dumped it. I assure you all we could not legally sell it after Feb 9th. I do not understand how we are even mentioned in this.

tenpin, the person who bought the ball was the general public.
now if he bought it from a pro shop>>> no problem. but he was the one who brought up global300 " related e-mail" not me.

and if "a" ball maker sells closeouts directly to the public, they are indeed undercutting their pro shop customers.

now it appears>>> that "did not" happen here!!!!!!

now as for this so called closeout list.

never saw that, from global.

now you have said, you were not, and the pro shop said who he was.

Tempo -- I can't say for certain on release dates or whether it will be available across the pond, but I can certainly tell you about your other question. The Break was put together and poured at Storm's plant in Utah. However, 900 Global does indeed have its own plant, and will be pouring its own balls. The reason for Storm pouring The Break was so that the ball would be definitely ready and so that nothing would go wrong with 900G's first release. After this one, they will be pouring everything themselves (or so I have been led to believe).

That is also what I was told. They just wanted to get the first ball out and did not have all of the tooling when the Break was planned by the time Storm was in the process they had all of the tooling and equipment. All further releases will be poured by Global including the Creature when it comes out. Which will probably be around Late August or possibly early September.

So the break has the "S-70" coverstock.. with 70 being a relative guage of strength, presumably on a scale of 0-100? Is there any chance that sometime down the road there will be a ball released with a S-05 or S-10 coverstock? Something preal reactive just above a pearl urethane in strength, but with a high performance core? I would surely place an order for one...
