hey guys in your opion whats the earilest hooking ball. thanks
-
Columbia Reaction Roll!
Phenomenal, hook all the way down the lane, including the backend if thrown on a heavy oil league shot.
Of course there are better choices for Flat oil conditions!
REgards,
Luckylefty
PS before The Reaction Roll came out tied for earliest was the Brunswick Pro Zone Azure. Not as much backend as the Roll but a great one!

I had a Columbia Power Surge. You could see the mica particles in the purple coverstock. The little studs started grabbing as soon as the ball hit the lane---very early revving.
-
yeah i have a freind that has a talon and wants something earlier and i couldn't think of anything earlier than that.
-
Why you want earliest?
-
If you just want to know what the earliest hooking ball is or was, hands down it has to be the visionary midnight scorcher.....particle over a straight urethane base---no reactive resin in the cover----with an extremely high (.069) differential core. Of course in my experiments with my spinner the few years I have had one, I find that going to really low grits ...I have gone as low as 12 grit and everywhere between that and less than .05 micron finish and even drier lane balls at low grits will be very early in wanting to do it's thing....of course a heavier oil ball like the scorcher will do more of it when it does do it's thing compared to most balls.

Track Rising, was the only ball I literally witness hook before the arrows.
-
Are you talking about all time or on the market now? Earliest I've ever seen was an Ebonite Tombstone. Earliest now? IMO, AMF Incinerate.
-
earilest on today's ball line i dont want it a freind of mine does .he's a fullroller and ask me what i thought the earilest hooking ball on today's line was.thanks
-
Any strong solid with right drill and surface.
-
Your friend could wait for the Hyper Cell and then just drill it/change surface to match what he wants. Or, he could find something like a Storm Invasion which had a very strong R3X solid cover on it.
-
I can say my disturbed at 1000 is super earky and super strong
-
cool thanks alot

If your friend is a full-roller, is he aware of the different full-roller layouts? Check out J Mac's reply in this topic:

Surface on a lot of different choices will work easily. Most box finishes today don't go below 1500grit

Visionary AMB Particle, hands down earliest ball ever made, go to www.bowlerscellar.com and buy it.
-
In the past, Centaur AMB Particle, Midnight Scorcher, Trauma Response, Track Animal, Hammer 4D HPT, La Nina, Total Shock and Awe were all super early. These days, as stated, take an aggressive solid, think Hyper Cell, Mastermind, Sync, etc, and hit it with 360-500 abralon, and it will be plenty early. You could even consider looking into the Lanemasters stuff. Don't they still use a lot of particle?
-
In OOB surface, the strongest I have ever used/seen is the Motiv Raptor Talon.
-
I had a freight train that was damn early
-
EPX T-1. It also soaks up the most oil

Add a Complete Chaos and a Gold Angle to that list.
My Gold Angle would start hooking BEFORE it hit the lane!!!

HA! If you thought the Freight Rain was early, you should have tried the Train.

Truth. My Train was feet earlier than my Freight Train.
-
I briefly had a midnight scorcher that was really early... other ball that comes to mind was a BP Goliath... no surprise, both were high load particle covers.

original LT-48 rubber on old wood in the 70's

I had the opportunity to work with Mo Pinel yesterday and after watching me throw a few shots it was determined that because of me being very speed dominant that I needed an early hooking ball. We walked into the proshop and Mo asked the PSO what he had in stock that would hook at my feet. Mo was looking for a Ruckus Fued or a Mastermind in particular. The Mastermind was in stock so we went with that. Wow, what an amazing ball. Combined with some pitch adjustments and the layout, I now get a back end reaction that I never thought possible!

Great choice. Mastermind is great . Ruckus feud is rediculous strong too
