A new release ball is on the Market for 9 months to a year( few exceptions) then replaced with another ball with same core different name. When bowling was at it't peak balls didn't get replaced as quikly until technology changed( reactive) So why are we the consumer falling for this, technology hasn't changed but balls are flooding the market. We need to hold the bowling ball Manufactures accountable, Don't buy a new ball until it is actually a new ball.

I'm with you, I'll never understand it myself, hence why I stopped buying a few years ago. At the end of the day, ALMOST ANYTHING can perform on a house shot, if you know how to play the lanes, and if you have versatility in your game.
I have balls since 2010-2015 that still PERFORM as good as they were new oob. :-\

I ask myself the same question, but somehow it doesn't stop me from buying every new ball Motiv releases. ???
I bowled with the Sigma Sting for a few years although I would still buy the new balls that came out. I would throw the new ones a few games, then right back to the Sting.
I'm currently on the same streak with the Venom Cobra. The new Rogue Blade is a good ball, the Trident Abyss is a monster, I love the T10, but the Venom Cobra is still my "money" ball.
In summary, I'm an idiot. ;D But I will still buy the Forge as soon as my pro shop receives it and gets it drilled for me.

Agree with what you are saying. People has several reasons. One big reason is magic in a NIB! People think that will solve the woes they have...
Some people just like new stuff...
Jason Wonders told me when the Hammer Blue Urethane (original) came out they sold millions ( can't recall the exact amount he told me) the ball was out for a few years. You didn't have the 12 balls a year from a company that you do now..
Now the game has changed and all, but that is amazing to sell that many of one ball!!
So new stuff means how we stay in business now a days. Unfortunate its the nature of the ball business today...

Part of it is because people don't clean their equipment the way they should.

I'm in the camp that it is all STUPIDITY. If the ball companies were not putting out the "latest and greatest" stuff every 6 months, how would they stay in business? If the balls did not crack, or wear out, or the USBC change rules, why would you keep buying new?
I can point to several casual bowlers in my area throwing old stuff like Storm Fire Power, Razor Wire, and one guy uses a RotoGrip Bandit .... they all shoot 700's with them too on the china ....
Makes me wonder why I keep spending my money. Buy 3, find 1 good one, sell 2, have the USBC tell you that they are all illegal (because some 2 hander decided to drill triangle layouts, we ALL pay), start over.

I finally stopped buying as well! I only buy now if there is an important niche to fill, or an intriguing piece shows up that appears unique!
I have close to two hundred balls! I sell some; give away some, and yet the balls seem to multiply all by themselves!
Now I just bowl in "Gear Leagues" if I want to own a particular piece! ;)

Isn't that the truth. Went on a short new ball buying spree for awhile but lately I have been buying only old Visionary, Brunswick PK18 and derivatives and the odd gem that falls in my lap. On THS gems often roll better than new stuff anyway.

You seeing any 14# Visionary stuff? It is hard to find..

Simple. For fun. When most of the time you’re bowling on a house shot, it’s just something to shake things up. Sometimes I’ll change out equipment for something similar but a different color ball to add variety.

Some but yeah hard to find in all weights. When do see it it is usually the z spin stuff I have been avoiding like the plague (although that New Breed particle looks nice). Actually picked up a 14# OG Blue Warlock by mistake (ebay ahole claimed it was 15# and I let ball sit for months in box) but didn't realize it was #14 until after drilled it. Nice ball I guess for when I am forced to drop down. Did recently also pick up a #15 Orange Warlock and wow even those first generation balls are legit on today's conditions.

Same problem mostly Z spins, not afraid of them know how to lay them out, I was just wanting some older stuff...

Yes many new balls to check out, so I check online for good deals on 2015 or newer balls, used all new balls. picked my 1st new x out ball. I bowl at 3 different lanes. so need more than 3 balls.

I have 5 and use 2. The other 3 don't even fit right and one's rubber. :P
Though I remember when one Vector One could be used about anywhere as long as the oil machine worked :P
